Will the gate 21 plaza itself be completed by the beginning of the season or is it just the gate 21 concourse under the stands that will be finished?

I'll look to see if they've been working on the gate on Wednesday when I'm on campus... but last time I was over there the gate was still the same. They're also supposed to remove all the scissor ramps, but I guess that's gonna wait until next year.

Thanks...I had a hunch that they weren't working on the plaza yet...but I didn't know for sure.

I think their are about 5 phase to the construction. And it's suppose to be done in 2009 or so I think. The brick work is going to be awesome and there is awesome going to be a satute of Gen. Neyland outside :)

I don't know if the Gate 21 will be complete by the beginning of the season but so far the reconstruction looks nice. I went in the main gate during Media Days and you can see most of the brick work looks complete but it looks like there is much duct work and cosmetic costruction to go. Most of the cocession areas that I could see looked finished.

The plaza is a later stage. Just inside work is being done now. Next year's phase will be interesting, because I'm not sure if they are ready to do the South Endzone, so maybe they will begin outside work next year.

I also think we will get the LED light scoreboard wrap around the bowl next year. It was in Phase 1 at first, but I think that the University decided to save themselves some money by folding that into the new Media deal that they bidded out, and it will be Hosts' responsibility to do that. I would think they would do that in the offseason, in time for next year.

Tell that to all the stuff they did under the skybox on the east side. :biggrin2:

I sit corrected, the club level seating DID have work to be done on the inside and the outside of the stadium, but it wasn't anything that "improved" the look of the stadium overall.

I think it looks a lot nicer on the outside... too bad they don't have a pic on the website, I'll take one on Wed. :p

This is the first I've heard of this. I've thought for the past few years Neyland would look nice with one of these. Do you have a link that talks about the LED ribbon?

No. When they first put up the website, it talked about it, but the decision was made to take it out of phase one, and they took it off the site. I e-mailed Mike and asked him about it, and he told me it would be folded into a later Phase. Then, when they just announced the recent media deal, I noticed that one of the things that Host would be "in charge of" was an infact, the LED scoreboard wrap, so I would assume it would be a high priority. I'll ask Mike about it later this month when I see him, and let you know. I also expect to find out more about the renovations. Everytime I see Mike, he is touting them, so he won't stop at just discussing the LED.
