I am just curious how it is working for everyone? I personally love it! It is not super fast but a vast improvement from nothing for sure. I am in X5 but have set in the club the first 3 home games. I will be back in my regular seats for A&M. I think it is a great improvement and one as a fan and a Network Engineer I greatly appreciate.

The first home game or two, it seemed a tad unstable. During the SCar game, it seemed as though whatever hiccups had existed had been worked out. (X2 here)

I'm in II and it works until the stadium gets full... then I can no longer connect. still some work to go

it still amazes me how bad the cell service is around there too

If they are going to provide it then it should work, or why do it? The real question is why do people need to be on their phones constantly and during a football game they paid lots of money, time and resources to attend and observe?

People are more than addicted to hand held devices......now I am putting mine down for a long time, just like I do at the games....

It’s great for texting to meet up with people at the game and after

I believe the upgrade is working well. My son FaceTimed me at half time and I was able to watch the band perform the alma mater. FT never worked in the past

Probably something to do during the 35 long as hell TV timeouts.

Check other game scores and whatnot.

I remember the days I was happy as all get out when I got decent reception on my transistor radio with my earplug.

Used to listen to WLS Chicago at night on my Penncrest (JC Penney) transistor radio with earplugs in the 1960s. Life was simpler, more boring and very different. Can’t imagine not being able to search the internet when I need the answer to something, like how to fix a dripping Delta bathtub faucet.

We watch other football games like lsu and ole miss during the long commercial breaks. Works great.

At Heinz field if you log into the stadium wifi with the Steeler app, you can see replays and detailed stats which is cool.

Especially useful this season to know just how catastrophically bad Matt Canada is as an offensive coordinator.

Would be cool if Tennessee could add similar options to the Neyland wifi.

The games last almost 4 hours. There is about 20 minutes of actual live action in that 4 hours. If you want people to have a better game experience then you need to be better here. Your silly lecture aside, people have all sorts of game related reasons to want to have wifi.

we have so much time in between plays when we’re on offense

They’ve only deployed the new infrastructure in the lower bowl so it’s only half capacity so far is what I’m reading.

The problem with Wi-Fi outdoors is that it travels almost unimpeded. People in the upper bowl will still see the signal and be able to connect which will not be the best experience yet. Once it’s all complete, we should see significant improvements for both users in the upper bowl and lower, since the folks in the upper will not be doubling up on the infrastructure below. That said, it’s going to kick a$$ based on what people are already getting.

I’ve seen people FaceTime friends, stream other games during breaks, etc. With cell service not having the capacity for that many people in one space, having WiFi that works is going to be great!

I can confirm... the upper bowl connectivity (at least in my area above the band in II) sucks... I can connect pre-game but eventually it drops and I can never connect again

In section S and it was fabulous. It was funny- for four hours pregame I couldn’t get a text picture to send - and then as soon as we were inside it was perfect.

Beats me.... I don't use it... other than taking a couple pictures of the pregame and at halftime i put my phone away and watch the ball game and try to concentrate on being loud when the opponent is on offense.

HAHA right? I mean its the world we live in now, get over yourself. If you don't want to use it then don't use it but I actually like to be able to text and communicate with my daughter who usually sits in the student section during the game. I also like to be able to check other scores or keep up with my work when I am on call. We have some real judgmental negative energy people on this board and its irritating. If I want to pay a 10k for a ticket and sit on my phone the entire game that's my business not anyone else. Good lord some of you guys need to stop worrying about trying to make other people feel bad and worry more about your own problems.

From what i have heard, the wifi upgrade was on the lower bowl. If you are sitting in the lower sections then wifi should be good to very good. In the upper sections it is being phased in. I think they are working on it throughout the season. You may see a large improvement in the upper sections as the season progresses.

It has worked wonders for me as I was barely able to use my phone during crowded games. I was even about to stream the Ole Miss- LSU game at half time for a few minutes.

It's somewhat better than before. I'm in XX3 and it still has some issues to work out. For example, I could not join and participate in the half-time light show during the South Carolina game. Also, I get kicked off the wi-fi often and get the notice "cannot join...." when I try to sign back on for several tries.
