Staff with a TN feel

If we strike out on Gruden, Stoops, Patterson and Strong how would everyone feel about this staff?

HC – David Cutcliffe
OC – Jim Chaney (maybe different OC)
RB – Jay Graham
WR – Tee Martin
OL – Sam Pittman
DC – John Chavis
DL – Marion Hobbey
LB – Kevin Steele
DB – (someone TBA)

Would be a great staff IMO and could win/recruit.

Much better than what we have now.

I don't see him taking a lateral job when his current job is doing really well. I think Chavis is a Vol at heart but the way he was let go damaged the relationship. Now if he is offered the HC i think he would consider it.

Cutcliffe would be hugely disappointing and would show me that the university lacks commitment to winning.

Also, I'm not sure Cutcliffe would prefer some of those names over ones he's currently working with. He's pretty loyal, perhaps even to a fault. JMO.

I agree on patterson and peterson but cut with that staff listed is ahead of Mullen imo

Would not be "great" with Cut at the head. He did pretty good for Ole Miss and has done pretty well with Duke however Tennessee is/was major NCAA program. Cut just does not have the "je ne sais quoi" to get it done here!!!

Vol fans want a change,and we`ll accept anyone but Dool-pigeon till THEY prove THEY can NOT win a meaningful game. Kiffin would have us in top 15 by now. He went home,and I personally can`t fault a man for that. Dool-pigeon was an awful,AWFUL hire!!

That hasn't been proven yet. I would say showing that you can win at Ole Miss and Duke shows that you could do a decent job almost anywhere. I don't think Cutt wants the stress of the UT job though.

Cutcliffe would come and would have came when Dooley was hired. He will want to bring in his staff which seemed to be the sticking point when DD was signed.

The Fulmer teams were always better with Cuttcliffe around. The fan base would be split though. I would support the idea. My opinion isn't worth much though.

The key words in your post are that Cut could do "a decent job"!!!

I do not want a coach that would do a "decent job". I want a coach that will do a "Great Job"! Tennessee is a storied program.

FYI. Cut has a losing record as a head coach at 65 and 66.

Cutcliffe will not take a job unless he can bring his Ole Miss proteges with him.

Roper would be the OC and I can see it being a Sanders level disaster. A notch above a Clawson level disaster and three notches above a Sunseri level disaster but a disaster nonetheless.
