Stallings just threw Jenkins and Taylor under the bus in a radio interview for disappearing late in games.

There has been a lot of discussion on this board about coaches calling kids out in the media. I believe it has it's place in rare circumstances. It will be interesting to see if this is one of those cases and those two kids step up for Vandy throughout the rest of the season.

Did you hear the UT fan call them out for not saying the same thing about stallings as they say about Dooley when he "tells it like it is"?

Although posted many times, it never gets old.

I heard this on the way to work this morning and was very surprised. What was the reaction afterwards from The Zone crew?

Same as always. Stallings has been doing this for years. However, he'll say, "but its ultimately our job", so the idiotic media and fans say, look, he took reaponsibilty.

He basically said they had good plays called, and couldn't make 2 easy passes. He then said he has guys scared and there is nothing he can do about it.

This is Stallings' 13th year at Candy. He has never won the SEC, the SEC tourney, or heck, even won the SEC East. His first four years he went 4th, 6th, 5th (tied) and 6th in the East. Most other coaches would've been fired before they let him hang on. He's had 3 straight one-and-dones to double digit seeds in the NCAA tourney.

He knew this was his year if he was ever going to make some noise and he still couldn't win the SEC. The SEC tourney is still there, but we know who is winning that. His only saving grace is the NCAA tourney. If he can't at least get to the Sweet 16, he's going to feel some heat IMO. If Jenkins leaves along with all those seniors after this year, Candy is going to be hanging on by their fingernails next year.

Stallings does get a lot of credit for having perennial middle of the pack teams.

Stallings grinds his team down over the course of a season. That's why they usually lay down at the end. They're tired of him by then.

I tend to agree with this very strongly but at least in the short term it looks like he lit a fire under his team. They are destroying Ole miss on the road.

Except Ole Miss isn't very good this year. Candy rolled Bama at Bama too. Both teams are fringe NCAA teams and will eventually be NIT teams.
