Stallings also said Mississippi State attempted to further injure Jenkins in Friday's SEC Tournament quarterfinal in Atlanta.

"We actually had an incident in the tournament of a player intentionally stepping on it, and being told to by his coach," Stallings said. "I thought that was very interesting that his coach was telling him, 'Step on his foot! Step on his foot!' "

Surprised this is buried in a story if it's true.

If I'm playing and your foot is hurt, I'm hitting it a couple of times. If your finger is busted up, I'm fouling you hard on it. It's also a decent defensive move to step on a players foot as he tries to shoot or move because the ref doesn't see it often and if you do it once, the offensive player starts to think about it. Stallings is a clown. He's always whining and if you think BP throws his players under the bus, you should listen to Stallings' postgame comments after a tough loss. He's just ticked he's in the 5/12 game and will be slotted to lose by many.

I don't know about intentionally stepping on it, but you'd be a fool not to try to deliberately test it somehow. Hard cuts, physical play, etc.

Stallings has now retracted this statement, and apologized to MSU. Douche.

As a vol fan it's hard for me to be critical of another(basketball) coach. If RS did this I am sure he will talk to KS in private. Good thing we had Bone to blanket Jenkins. We don't need to step on his foot. GBO!!!

He would have been wiser to say nothing at all than to make a bold accusation and then take back-water.

Pretty much. If you don't cry, complain, and draw people's attention to an unspecifiable fact, then you don't have to look like a tool when it turns out to be false.

He always runs his mouth. He just usually gets away with it because the nashville media, specifically Plaster and his crew of nitwits, let him get away with it and don't call him out. His postgame comments are epic. I and some friends try to tune in after Vandy losses for laughs.

Only Stallings can make those type accusations when not totally understanding the situation. How hard is it to ask the player a 2nd time if that is really what happenend before blurting it out in the media.

Really don't care for him.

I haven't read through this whole thread, so this may be answered, but how in the hell would Stallings know that a coach told the player to step on Jenkins foot? Seems kinda presumptious to me. If he was told to step on dudes foot, that is garbage, and there should be a public reprimand of said coach, but I am doubting cry-babies claims at this point.

I had a friend in HS who played for another school let me know his coach had told them to take me out. These guys know each other outside of the SEC. Not saying it happened but info travels fast

Hard for me to tell whether he's just a constant whiner or whether he has a valid point. Either way, he's a tool.
