Seeing how the recruiting forum is fond of lists, a “prospect list,” an “offer list,” a “visit list,” a “who is going to commit next” list, and so on, I feel I am as qualified anybody to compile a list. As my first ever new thread posted, I offer the list of players we all want to see on signing day.

Below are all the 2011 four and five star prospects (ESPN, Rivals.com, OR Scout.com) that have visited the campus or have Tennessee among their top five schools according to ESPN or Rivals.com. Almost all of these have also received scholarship offers from UT.

Now before the critique begins, I realize some guess work goes into the top five schools indicated for each player by ESPN and Rivals.com. The list does not include every four and five star player listed with a “medium interest” in Tennessee according to Scout.com.

I also realize recruiting is a fluid process, some names falling off the list (Dantzler for example if reports that he will commit to another school this weekend are correct), others to be added, hopefully. Player ratings move up or down during their high school senior season as well. Finally, yes, of course three star players are important too, and Dooley appears to be doing a good job of targeting the strongest and fastest of those.

All that said, based on current information at the three major recruiting sites, this is a snapshot of the four and five star players Tennessee has a chance of signing:

QB - Jacoby Brissett, Phillip Ely

RB - Isaiah Crowell, Justice Hayes, Daniel Lasco

WR- DeAnthony Arnett, Tacoi Sumler, Sammy Watkins, Kevin Benjamin, Hakeem Flowers, Delvin Clark

OL - Alan Posey*, Cyrus Kouandjio, Antonio Richardson, Ethan Hutson, Tarik Cook, Ryan Kelly, Zack Debell, Bobby Hart, Giorgio Newberry, Kiaro Holts, Watts Dantzler

TE - Jay Rome, Nick O’Leary, Brandon Fulse, Cameron Clear, Nick Vannett

ATH - Nickalos Brassell, Quan Bray, Shane Wynn, Kevin Grooms, Clifton Richardson, Dominique Terrell

DB - Malcolm Mitchell, Chris Jones, Jonathan Rose, Blake Countess, Avery Walls, Jabari Gorman, Robenson Therezie, Patrick Martin

LB - Tony Steward, Lamar Dawson, Kent Turene

DT - Tim Jernigan, Todd Barr, Mickey Johnson, Gabriel Wright, Lonnie Gosha

DE - Xzavier Dickson, Raw Drew, Norkeithus Otis, Curt Maggitt, Aaron Lynch

* Committed to Tennessee

Seems like a useful list. Some interesting names for sure. Don't let the grumpy folks here get you too down. Just like on the streets, you have to ignore these people.
