is that a giant Zip-Lok bag on the ground near Spock's feet?

J. J. Abrams needs to get the frick away from the franchise, he absolutely ruined it.

Abrams, Orci & Kurtzman, LaDouche...all guys that need to stay away from franchises.

I didn't like the first one. Felt like they were trying to hip it up, or "Star Wars" it up too much. It had none of them charm of the original films, save for The Motion Picture and V, which were the worst anyway.

Could you expand your thought with specific examples?

I consider myself pretty critical of a lot of movies, and I'm somewhat of a trekkie. But the last one was pretty good imo

I never could get into the original show, but enjoyed the last movie. Will be giving this a watch as well when it comes out.

I liked it. ...but having said that, I'm no hardcore Trekkie.

I' know who's who but the first star trek thing I remember really watching was Generations and First Contact.

It's a tough gig to do something like this that will please the fans and bring in the casual moviegoer. I thought it was a good balance and having their fates altered leaves room for new storylines.

I'm no Trekkie, but I didn't hate it as much as some. I really disliked the alternate timeline stuff... plus blowing up 2 major planets from the old series didn't make a lot of sense.

It had its good points and bad... I probably will go see the new one as well.

Overall, I really enjoyed the movie. I was skeptical of the ship design but it grew on me. Finally someone got the scale right.

I loved all the nods to the original series tv/movies. The kobiashi maru? then having kirk eating the apple directly taken from wrath of khan.

I look forward to the sequel.
