I think this serves three functions:

1.) It rewards Bone for playing outstanding defense and playing well offensively the last several games.

2.) It might take some pressure off of Cam and allow his offensive game to come back and get him out of this slump.

3.) It adds a little firepower to our bench that we are lacking right now.

Bone has also shown the ability this year to consistently hit open jump shots. Something that this team needs more of.

doesn't seem to know what he is doing with the ball. This also makes him take bad shots. He needs to focus on rebounds and steals, stop dribbling the ball, and work for catch and shoots.

I'm all for it. Bone's ball handling is lightyears better than Tatum or Hopson.

I agree, Bone has a very good shot and takes it at good times. Tatum can't shoot right now but he'll find his stroke later on

Tatum has confidence problems, when he hits his first shot he does well, when he misses it's another story. He played incredibly timid and passed on a lot of open shots yesterday. Something is up with his game offensively. Bone is playing with TONS of confidence and is a hell of a defender.

Agree with OP. Also think Bone is a better (though not great) ballhandler. The team desperately needs to be stronger with the ball. And Hopson should be practicing ballhandling skills twice as long as he practices his jumpshot.

That'd be huge for this team, he's shown he has the ability to light it up, but it comes in big bunches, the Vols need him to find some semblance of consistency

I agree that Bone should start. Tatum is not giving us anything on either end of the floor. Bone is a better defender and, for now, better offensively. Tatum needs to earn playing time or McRae should take his place in the rotation, assuming his suspension is lifted. At least he has the opportunity to improve. I see nothing from Tatum that indicates he is going to be the player we need him to be.

Also, Josh Bone is such a better story than Skylar McBee, just saying.
