I understand Foster jumped in last year and did well, but I also understand Coker and Williams had issues with health. If all three are healthy, who starts? The reason I ask is because of the speed of each. Coker was built as a speedster along with Williams. Just would like to know, not slamming anyone.

I think Foster will be very difficult to unseat. He ran with a lot of maturity last year, and he has the size to be fairly durable in the SEC. It will be nice to have some extra legs in the backfield though.

I would really like to see another two-headed monster emerge, like Henry and Stevens.

Foster will start
but don't forget Hardesty(when he's back from his injury of course)

as far as RB is concerned, i think UT will have more speed than in past years. Foster can pound the rock as well as make guys miss. Coker and Hardesty are just plain blazing. it oculd prove to be a pungent combo

Foster and Hardesty will split the majority of the carries next season. Foster probably around 20 a game, Hardesty around 15 a game.

If he's healthy, why wouldn't Foster be our starter next year. I think that he earned it last season. If it wasn't for him, our offense would have REALLY sucked.

There's a lot of potential speed on defense out there on the schedule. We need even more speed and clear vision. Foster showed a lot of that at the end of the season. It will be interesting to see what the others will do. As long as they hold on to and protect that ball, I could care less who starts.

Agreed... He was the one bright spot of our offense last season. He has the potential to be the next big time RB in the SEC, as long as the offensive line will game up.

i think Foster comes in as the starter, but Hardesty and Coker i would expect will see some time as well. I think we should be pretty good at RB next season....maybe not loaded, but stocked. Foster will get bigger, and the experience from last year will help.

O line will dictate a lot of how well we are able to run it.

i dont see how in the world foster wouldnt start if healthy. in every game he has started in his career(5 or 6?), he has had 100+ yards. thats pretty good for a guy that was starting his redshirt freshman year.

He only started 5 games and almost ended up with 900 yards. Imagine if he had started the entire season. Running behind a poor run blocking O-Line that extremely impressive. I look for better things of him in the future if we get a better coached O-Line. I think he may break the all time rushing record.

whew, that's a mighty bold statement, and wouldn't have a problem if it came true....i like the optimism.

Foster showed up a senior at RB last year. He showed up a pre-season heisman hopeful. I dont see how he cant start, but no way he gets more than 25 carries a game. hardesty will get tons of playing time too.

We could easily rotate with this level of talent and pound away with fresh legs the entire game. It's what UGA has done successfully for the past couple of years. Defenses wear down by 2nd or 3rd quarters and the 4th is off to the races and stat padding.

Foster did a great job, and will probably be the odds on favorite to start, and Hardesty, from what I understand, was a phenom in preseason practice last year before the injury. Still, my heart belongs with the man from Antioch who committed in his junior year. It is a nice problem to have, and I would remind everybody that Foster was 4th string going into the season. No disrespect to the kid--he did a great job, and I'll be cheering as loud as anybody if he is the one toting the rock; I just like homestate boys making good.

As for the line not being good at run-blocking (from qbvol7's post,) as disappointing as Riggs' year seemed to be, he still averaged over 4 yards per carry and gained 530 yards in under 6 games. The line did some things right, just not consistently enough.

For my money, I just hope we don't screw around this year of who will start at qb and running back.Get the positions set and start practicing together.I hope we've learned our lesson from last year's debacle. :banghead:

At this point, I would think the biggest question would be who would come in and give some Foster some rest. I hope Hardesty or Coker are pretty good themselves...

Am I the only person on the board that thinks Hardesty should redshirt? I cannot imagine him being 100% until well into the season.

We really did suck on offense as a team, but individually Foster was great!

With the new surgery they are doing the recovery time is really quick, with no setbacks he should be ready to go by fall.
