How is it scored in the books if the WR catches the pass then laterals to another for a TD.

Use this example.

Pass from mid-field to WR at the 25. He then laterals to someone for the remaining 25. Does the second player get stats for a "rush?" How is it scored?

The initial receiver is given credit for the catch and the guy who caught the lateral is given credit for a receiving TD.

So is it 25 yards passing for the QB, 25 yards receiving for the WR, and is it 25 yards rushing for the 3rd player?
I can also see 50 yards passing for the QB, and 25 yards receiving for the other two.

It's the latter. The QB gets fulls credit for all the yards gained and the passing TD. The receivers split receiving yards and the guy who caught the lateral gets a receiving TD.
