I live in Georgia and only get to visit Knoxville about once a year when I go home to ky ( about 45 mins from there). Over the past 5-6 years I've noticed while in Knoxville that there hasn't been much excitement among people ( understandably so) while there. However, while in Knoxville yesterday shopping it amazed me the difference there was. There was orange being worn everywhere. There were fans talking about Butch in best buy, the recruiting in a music store, and I heard brick by brick references in a restaurant. Here it is bowl season and our Vols are at home coming off another 5-7 season. Yet, the atmosphere in Knoxville from what I saw made me feel like we were about to play a New Year's Day bowl. May not be nothing to no one else, but from what I saw it just felt different this year than the past few years amongst the fans. I loved it! Made my day so I thought I would share.

Reminds me of the time when people were claiming that Bob Dole signs were everywhere leading up to the 96 election meaning that he was going to clobber Clinton.........and we know how that turned out.

If there optimistic there not from volnation

You're spot on!! There is so much negativity here on a daily basis it's ridiculous. For every positive or optimistic posts...there are two/three negavols or smarta$$ responses....followed by bickering back and forth. It's gotten so predictable. Personally, I choose (on most occasions) to take an optimistic stance with the program I love. Go Vols!

I come from a family of Vols fans here in middle Tennessee. They're of the opinion that the Vols have been going down hill since 2002. None of us liked Fulmer but his replacements to be kind weren't SEC quality. They're not impressed so far with CBJ but hope for the best. Tennessee has always been full of people wearing their orange. It's always been full of people wearing crimson too.

Many, many more people wearing orange than Crimson, despite the bandwagon jumpers the last 5 or so years.

Never been full of people wearing black and gold.

I GO back 43 years as fan and I am still blown away with the fans that don't like Fulmer or say he could not coach, if you go back in the past 60 years, I know he could not beat the gators, but he could FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF BAMA up like 7 years in a row and now look at us if we can stay with in 30 points of them it like boy we did something not saying he was the General, you take him out of the picture it would have been a HILL of long time between NCs, plus he is hall of fame.:ermm:

We have to realize that a bunch of those negative posters are fans of Vandy, Georgia. Florida, and other schools which Tennessee has beaten like a drum until the last 4-6 years. They know that they are going back to licking their wounds real soon.

Just my opinion but Chavis and Cutcliffe are the reason Fulmer is in the hall of fame.
