Last season we got close to a few records and/or a few people nearly cracked the top 10 in their statistical categories, and had a couple successes:
  • Jabari Small only needed 3 rushing TDs to enter the top 10 all-time with 22, however he only rushed for 2 TDs all of last year and ended up one short.
  • Jabari Small needed 721 rushing yards to enter the top 10, but only rushed for 475.
  • Jaylen Wright needed 1080 rushing yards to enter the top 10, and came just short at 1013.
  • Charles Campbell was close to entering the top 10 in FG% (82.4) but missed it by 1 FG, ending up at 78.3%.
  • James Pearce needed 10 sacks to enter the top 10 in single-season, but ended up with 9.5.
  • Charles Campbell tied Alex Walls and James Wilhoit at #10 in single-season FGs with 18.
  • Joe Milton tied Peyton Manning for 10th All-Time with 27 total TDs in a season after a 6-TD performance vs. Vandy.

It's an insult if you INSIST it is. I think it is clear enough I was making light of WE long-suffering Vols fans. But if you want to interpret it differently, you're free to do so.

Its kinda wild how deep some folks hate is. Joe Milton was putting up historic numbers last season.. meantime people are calling him the worst QB ever. If that's true that means pretty much every QB we have had the last 50 years sucked? Because there are very few guys that outdid those numbers.

Agreed. Why do we hate on our own? Joe sure seemed like a standup guy, or at least appears that way. Good representative for the university and he handled his business. It takes more than one player to affect a football game.

The crazy thing is, its always those guys, stand up guys doing their best and putting it all out there on the line that we go after the hardest. Blows my mind.

He is now tied for 2nd all-time with Reggie Cobb in Single-Season Rushing TDs with 17! One away from the record, and at least 5 games to do it!

He is now alone in 4th all-time in Career Rushing TDs with 30! Seven away from the record, and at least 5 games to do it!

James Pearce has picked up his pace with 1.5 sacks vs. Bama.

Max GIlbert (due to being asked to kick two 50+ FGs) has dropped out of the top 10 in FG% all-time with 80% now. Will be a tall climb back into the top 10.

Updated after Kentucky game! Sampson the record holder! Now he sets his sights on breaking the all-time career rushing TD record (5 more).

Also, dropped off all FG% metrics off Max Gilbert's section...
