A fair number started to leave at the point, but it was amazing how many stayed. Two years ago that game would have cleared out a lot quicker. From the ESPN article posted by Arc:
Tennessee had been 0-6 against top 10 teams in Neyland Stadium since 2000, and many of the 106,009 in attendance stayed to the end. After all, their last glimpse of the 2005 Vols was in an embarrassing loss to Vanderbilt.
The idiot McGuire stated with about 6 or 8 minutes left in the game that is was a done deal and most of the fans had already left. I knew that was a load of you know what...
Cool!!! Maybe now Neyland will become the intimidating place we all know and love!!A fair number started to leave at the point, but it was amazing how many stayed. Two years ago that game would have cleared out a lot quicker.
It was also nice and loud while we were on D, all the way through the THIRD quarter, people usually lose steam at halftime.
If "10" was from garbage time (it was) then all 17 were. They scored the field goal first.Though the Vols only won by 17 points, you can attribute at least 10 of those points to garbage time as Tennessee had the game well in hand by the time Cal decided to get its act together. This victory for the Vols will certainly shake up the polls come Monday. Until next time, have a good evening and enjoy the rest of the games this weekend.
