- 4 Conference Championships
- 50-27 Wins to Loss Record
- 2-1 record against Charlie Strong
- Academic Award for team in 2012
- Recognition by Peers: Coach of the Year (I think this is sometimes underestimated!)

Final note, it's okay that he didn't have SEC experience. Neither did Meyer, Saban (before LSU), Richt, Sumlin, etc. Dooley DID have the SEC experience.

Yea, his stats are great:

This is winning conference co-championships in the Big East:

Sagarin Ratings
2011
RATING W L SCHEDL(RANK) VS top 10 | VS top 30
30 Cincinnati 10 3 68.43( 73) 0 0 | 0 1

2012
RATING W L SCHEDL(RANK) VS top 10 | VS top 30
45 Cincinnati 9 3 63.85( 99) 0 0 | 0 0

There are a lot more of the top 10 and top 30 on UT's schedule. The cherry on top is getting run out of the stadium by Dooley.

Don't act like he was doing this with a team full of SEC caliber talent. Do you even think before you post?

Look at his record vs teams with winning records. It's educational.

Just wondering if you have done this for other SEC coaches before they came to the SEC, or are you just harping on a coach who's been stuck at lower tier schools, with lower tier facilities, recruiting budgets and talent?

Its really hilarious the way they are trying to spin this crap. His schedule rank was actually 38th in 2010, and he went 4 and 8. Then he plays the 73rd schedule with 1 top 30 team that he of course loses too in 2011. Then his schedule this year is 99th, and he has played no one in the top 30. But now he is going to recruit with the big boys, and bring all of his "best staff in the country rejects" along and beat everyone.

Yes. Lower tier schools play lower tier talent sans one "money game"/ year.

Blind support is not supportive of nor beneficial to the program.

He is the skinniest fat kid? Awesome!!!

Look at who he replaced at Cinci and who is replacing him at Cinci. They, for some unknown reason, have produced some excellent coaches. Be "that" guy, doesnt matter we have no control over this hire, but to act like he didnt accomplish good things before coming to UT is silly.

That also happened to be perhaps dooleys biggest win of his career because cincy actually turned out to be good that year and were ranked at one time if I remember correctly.

Makes sense though. I mean if he can't beat top 10 teams at a ****ty school like Cincinnati on a regular basis he must be a terrible coach.

He can't beat 1 team that finished in the top 25 in his career. He can't even be competitive with a "good" team against Dooley, who lost to a Kentucky team without a quarterback.

He might end up being a great coach, but the prior accomplishments and evidence is very suspect.

With Cincy's athletic director doing what he does in both football and basketball, he should be considered for any job opening at that level. The guy can spot talent.

The tennessee team that played Cincinnati and the team that played UK were pretty much two different teams. All I need to look at is his overall record, the accomplishment of winning 4 championships in 6 years, and his players love him and would run through a brick wall for him.

Who was your first pick to be our coach?

to be fair, that UT team he lost to had Justin Hunter but by the UK game had all but given up on Dooley

And you are 100% on target with what you said. Under Jones, I'm looking for 4-8, 5-7, or 6-6 seasons, at best. I hope beyond hope that I'm wrong and he surprises us all, but a little research brings reality to the fore.

Let's face it. Hart hired Jones because Jones is the only guy who would accept the peanuts Hart was offering. Hart knows that to get a Miles, Richt, or Saban... you have to shell out more peanuts. OKSU and UofL easily matched Hart's offer to Gundy and Strong. Why then, should they go through the grueling process of packing up and moving to a new city? Jones came to UT for one reason: the $$$ that comes from moving out of a Big Ten or Mack level program and into the SEC.

To get the best, you have to be willing to pay for the best. Hart failed, and now he is doing everything to spin off his "Jones Soda" just like Hamilton did Doolaide. Like Hamilton, Hart needs to be fired.

GBO................ anyway.
