Will still be tough as they still have Rodney Gardner to recruit for them. That guy is an ace! Wish we could steal him!

I thought we would have a shot at Ogletree but Richt offered his twin brother. I remember kiffin saying last year he wouldnt offer someone just to get a package deal Which I agree with. You can't waste scholarships

Garner likely wont be at UGA by the time signing day rolls around. He feels he was promised the DC position if Martinez were to leave. I see no way Richt names him the permanent DC at the end of the season.

Also, Nickell Robey is the best bet to switch to Tennessee.

I would love to see Garner back on our staff if he leaves Ga... I know he is a D coach but Kiffin could take on wide recievers and we could give Mitch Browning a position on the O...Browning is the unforgotten coach on this staff that has helped mold our O-line this year...and As I recall it was after Garner left to go to Ga that our recruiting begin to turn down hill.... just my thoughts

Garner has coached on the offensive side of the ball before. TE's at both Auburn and Tennessee, but it would probably be tough convincing him to coach on that side again.

Fulmer was an idiot for letting Garner go. Our recruiting in that state and Alabama went south the minute he left. He could have kept him if he had matched UGA's offer, but as I recall it he didn't want to upset some of his other staff members (friends) who always thought Garner got too much credit for his recruiting (surprise surprise). That wasn't a very friendly staff to work for if you weren't in that original "clique".

Garner never leaving = 1 or 2 more NC's + 6-7 top 10 finishes over the last 11 years.

WOW... the more you hear about the former staff, the less you like them, Oh and don't forget Fulmer did give us Randy Sanders....ugh :whistling:

It was pretty well known that Chavis was a grumpy geolous type who didn't like to recruit and didn't like recruiting stars like Garner and Trooper getting their due credit.

Just another management/organization issue that Fulmer wouldn't/couldn't address.
