Assuming Wilcox leaves for Texas and Lance Thompson is not promoted, what new DC helps the most in recruiting?

Example, would anyone considering Clemson come here if Steele joined the Vols?

If Lance is promoted and Frank Wilson comes back, where does that put Tennessee with Anthony Johnson?

I don't know but I don't remember anyone that Wilcox has recruited. John Chavis never recruited when he was here so I guess it is something DC's don't do. It seems as if Monte did a little recruiting last year though or at least he was on the road with Orgeron some.

Im not all that high on Steele as I was this time last year.

I would prefer Diaz or Shannon. Shannon would want his own guys and that wouldnt float with CDD. Diaz will be gone this time next year or within 2 years.

So really its not a win win situation.

Head1 is correct. Although both Diaz and Shannon would be a great hire, good for recruiting, and high profile, neither would bother to get a Tennessee drivers licence because they would not stay very long.( we know what thats like) Get someone with a UT connection. Clemson does have some coaches with that qualification. Just MO.

This. Shannon would be a great hire, but I think you only do this if you've got someone on staff waiting in the wings for a promotion.

Bumpas DC @ TCU his national rankings in 2010, Total Defense 1st, Scoring Defense 1st , Pass Defense 1st, Passing Eff Defense 1st, Rushing Defense 3rd! Who can top that??

I have been wondering why no one gives this guy a chance myself.....level of competition not near SEC quality, but still, the numbers don't lie!
