My wife and I do them. Keeps you motivated to stay on the move.

You don't make much (typically less than $10 + your buy in) but still effective nonetheless.

Exactly. I'm doing Erin Oprea's, it started today.

We just started our final week of one. Started with 932 players and we're down to 691. $40 buy in minus stepbet's 15% cut has the payout at $40 (buy in) + $5.95 (winnings).

The dietbet and runbet offer much higher payouts if you're really looking for cash incentive, but the stepbet (at least to me) is an easy way to make sure you keep moving.

Not looking for $, just thought the motivation would be fun. I'm a competitive person, so I don't want to be one of the drop outs (aka failures).

I have been trying to figure out ways to get more steps into my day (changed to stand up workstation a few months ago, but I do a TON of computer work daily, so I can only step so far lol). I figure six weeks of working toward the daily goals will help me change my normal.

I just looked, we've only got 454 players, total pot is $18,160.00. If I just get my money back I'll be a winner. :)

The one I'm doing is an app called StepBet. I got the link via a chick I follow on IG (she's Carrie Underwood's trainer). The girl is hilarious. She encourages everybody to get 10k steps a day, and I guess partnered with StepBet for this one.

I probably was averaging 4-5k most days, and 7-8k on days when I go to the gym. The app set my goal at 7,393k four times a week, and 9,693k twice a week (then you have a free day). The app syncs with your step counter (Fitbit, phone, whatever). Pretty cool.

Interesting... looking in the Health app on my iPhone it looks like I average about 9000/day.

Did over 22,000 Saturday before Last hiking all over downtown Nashville but that’s not normal LOL.

Dang! My little brother got 21k going to a motorcross thing in Atlanta a few weeks ago. I said "Where'd you have to park??"

StepBet has my active goal set ~8k, stretch is just over 10k. The more StepBets you do, the more it will slowly raise up your goals. I don't think it will raise them by too much from game to game (they don't want to discourage you), and it's nice that they don't change from week to week.

That part is so true. Part of it, for me, is that I just don't have unlimited time where I can do it. What I hope to gain in this six weeks is getting to a point where my normal days included me moving around more than I am now.

So this is different than just a step challenge. There’s no money involved in the step challenges I do. A lot of my running friends have garmins, and we will do monthly running challenges and step challenges. You can daily and weekly ones too.

I seen something that would help. Let me try and find it.

Ah. I don't have enough friends that are into health to do that.

Do you get extra credit for the "healthy pace" or anything? My Galaxy notifies me whenever I'm walking over a certain MPH.

My wife was running a 1/2 Marathon and I was flying around to meet her at certain points on the route.

What?? I work in a warehouse and my Apple Watch says I have walked 21,444 steps today. This is the case for everyday lol. I look back at the previous weeks and I walk that many steps every single day. Plus day isn’t over yet and I just got off work.
