May be the best position coach on this staff. His unit may be the key to the Vols winning 1 or 2 they shouldn't. His unit is by far the most improved position group on this team, Worley being a close 2nd.

I agree with this 100% i know it shows up that we only have 5 sacks. Not great but thats not terrible. Look at the QBs we have faced. All three are pretty elusive QBs that have gotten themselves out a ton of possible Sacks. If the QBs we have faced would have been more of a pure pocket passer type then we would have had alot more sacks. We have had alot of pressure, QB hurries, and we have 20 TFLs. I am enjoying the edge this group plays with. Stripling has done a wonderful job and they will only get better. They might be a bit undersized but it didnt really show up against OU who has a massive OL. OU really couldnt run the ball well at all inside the tackles. They had a couple nice runs but the group did a great job. BTW, it will be nice when Saulsberry gets all the way back in the swing. Good to hear hes back on the field.

Also, it gets me really excited to think about how good this D-line could be in the next year or two with the current players getting further coaching from stripling and the 5 start DT's they are bringing in he 2015 class. Could be dominant!

I want to pay Devil's advocate: The DL 1s should have been able to help prepare OL 1s for Oklahoma. After watching the replays, JW did not make adjustments at the line when Striker was tatooing him, also, I would have thought that max-protect would have been used, I think UT's WRs were better than OU's DBs, however JW did not get the time to allow plays to develop, and that being said, Screens and slant should have been used to pull Striker off the line and respect the pass........my 2cents. I do think there were some coaching mistakes in the OU game.

He expects Midwest Big 10 toughness upfront...That league was built for years on stopping the run..

Thank goodness we don't have to WATCH Big 10 football, though... I grew up in the middle of nowhere, Illinois, and I would rather watch paint dry than watch Big 10 football.
