Let me start by saying I am in no way a Bruce or Steven Pearl advocate, would just like to comment. Yesterdays -ever so huge- game against the Gators, although Pearl#2 had few if any rebounds, points, free throw shots made, with all the playing time he had in this game, didn't make too many ball handling mistakes. I noticed he had pretty quick hands, one resulting in a big steal late second half. I recall Bobby Knight saying his son was his favorite all time player he coached. I suppose it is hard to play for a dad. I have to give kudos to Pearl#2 this game though.

Normally, I don't want to see Steve play that much, but if Renaldo isn't going to play D at all, we have to put him in. He had a great game, imo. 4 steals in maybe twice that many minutes? Our typical TO's were absent yesterday, so without Pearl, we probably lose that one. Way to go SP!

Gotta admit...it kills me to see him out there most of the time, but yesterday he played really well and was giving energy off the bench, Good job Steven>

Yeah--But---Jr. steals the ball, dribbles up-court, instead of passing to an open Chism, drives down, gets fouled, and misses both FT's. That was not good. Also missed a layup---but the whole team missed many chippies in the game. SP is improving--may be a good bench player before he's done.

for everything mini pearl does good he usually negates it by doing twice as many bad things. mini pearl defied the odds yesterday and broke this streak. positives: 4 steals, 1 assist. negatives: 1 missed field goal, 2 missed free throws, 1 turnover, 0 points.

he played decent enough, but on those 2 fast break steals he had he looked kind of like a fish out of water. haha.

Let's ALL say it together folks, "Tennessee wouldn't have beaten Florida yesterday without Stephen Pearl!" :yahoo:

Steven had a good game. He was solid, and he knows he'll never be spectacular. He accepts his role and provided the steals when UT needed them.

If the referee doesn't call it, it isn't a foul. He actually helped us yesterday, perhaps for the first time this season.

Steven Pearl=Best player in the SEC.

In all seriousness he has played some serious minutes and contributed.

He wouldn't be on the team without his dad at coach, but hopefully he makes a play every now and then and doesn't screw up any big games.
