So, we know Tony is going over, and more than likely Ryan Newman will be the second driver. Being a Truex Jr. fan does anyone see him possibly being the third driver for the new Stewart racing team? I have read on Jayski that Tony wanted a 3 man power team, I personally hope Truex goes that way. Another possibility for Truex is Penske, sources are saying that he is their primary target for replacing Newman. Lets hope he doesnt go that way.

Please post what you guys think Martin will do.

I too, am a Martin Truex fan and his best option has to be the Stewart-Haas route. RCR would be a close second, but I have a good idea that Richard already has his 4th driver

I agree with you Mike, he would be better off in the long term with Stewart-Haas. Next year Penske would probably be stronger than S-H as they go through a reorganizing/building season. As far as what he will do, there is still a RCR ride to fill, and possibly Gibbs which to me would be the top ride available. I would think he would try to land at Gibbs. I know everyone is putting Logano there, but I'm not sure his experience level is high enough. If he were their choice, why haven't they announced it? There is always the chance Truex will stay at DEI, his least attractive choice to me.

Would that be Mears? I wouldn't want Mears but maybe
Richard Childress sees something in him that I don't.:dunno:

Mears is an option, along with Menard, McMurray, Reutimann, Newman, Yelley, Riggs, Sorenson and don't be surprised if Montoya is looking for a new ride.

Here's what I posted in the other topic below.

Yeah I read a bunch of NASCAR gossip so all of this is pieced together from all of the things I've heard but does this make sense to any of you:

First, we have heard that John Menard might be interested in partnering with Doug Yates and taking little Paul with him and the Menards money. This would put Yates Racing at 3 teams next year more than likely. Well, if the other two can get some sponsorships coming in - something I've heard will happen.

Next we have the overall demise of DEI. Martin will be gone, if Menard goes and takes his money that will be another of DEI's teams without a driver or sponsor. Then factor in Regan Smith basically running sponsorless right now and hanging onto the top 35 by the skin of his teeth. With all of this and rumors of DEI being bought out and all of that the next piece of the puzzle might be no DEI at all - in any shape, form, or fashion. Truex Jr could see what is going on and bail out while he can, with him and Bass Pro Shops conveniently slipping into a 3rd team at Stewart-Haas Racing.

This would eliminate all 4 of DEI's Cup efforts in my little theory above. For arguments sake lets say that 3 of them stay in the top 35 - which should happen for sure. Probably all 4 but I'll go with 3. With no team then the owners points could be bought up by, yep, Stewart-Haas racing. This way Tony wouldn't even have to worry about the Past Champ provisional and have all 3 of his cars in the top 35 going into next season.

Oh, speaking of the 66 getting back in he may do it but it will be interesting to see what happens in the next couple of races. Seems that the 70 teams scanner chatter on the pace laps at Chicago was telling him it would be a shame to see the 00 in the wall. Well a couple of laps later the 70 put the 00 in the wall - and the 66 benefited greatly. He didn't quite get back into the top 35 but now the 66 is only 14 points out. MWR, from what I've read is HIGHLY upset over this and McDowell even went on record saying we've got 3 cars to their two and lets see how easily the 66 dodges all 3 of us now since they want to play like that.

What an interesting year! By far everything off the track has been 1000x more interesting than on track racing this season.

Stewart and Newman have reached a verbal commitment, as expected... Truex apparently got into a "raised-voice spat" with DEI Pres Max Seigel accusing Seigel of leaking a story to ESPN that they reached a 2 year agreement.. Surely Truex wont resign with DEI, for his sake
