Still backing the Volunteers

I am not sure how good this team can be, but I think they can put together a better game than the one they took to Arkansas. I'm talking about a game that will beat the Gators. Vols got to be fixed for a hard, smart fight to win, or the Gators will make them look like weak sisters of the SEC.

This is still one of the best teams we have had in nearly 20 years. Heupel has fielded three of our best teams in the last generation.
Who's bailing on this team?
Anyone on this forum must be pretty faithful.
I expect everyone is the same as me. Turning my back on the VOLS has never crossed my mind. I stopped watching a lot of games during the Dooley years, and a few during the Pruitt years, but that was because my anxiety and blood pressure were off the charts.

The Orange Power T flag has proudly flown from my front porch for a long time, and never comes down until it is time for a new one.

Been a fan since I was 10 years old in 1951 and, like you, never once considered turning my back on the Vols. As disappointed as I've been in recent years I never let it get under my skin enough to affect my health though. In fact, and this may irritate some people, I even laughed at times we seemed so inept. One memorable time was the Arkansas punt return several years ago. It was almost comical the way we whiffed. And there have been other times I did the same. Four years ago I wondered if I would live long enough to see us as good as we've been the past couple of years. But I never gave up.

My anxiety is nearly off the chart on a good day.

Those teams were so badly coached it got my goat.
The VOLS used to prove themselves every season to be excellent at special teams during the Majors and Fulmer years. It was so regular, we just took it for granted we would always make some breaks in the kicking game either way.
Those wilderness years were examples of some incredibly bad, almost comically, special teams' play. Imagine what Evan Berry could have been with the special teams units we have had the past 3 seasons.

I'm on the board of my HOA
I did my turn. Most folks aren't ridiculously rigid in demanding "their right to their property" nor is the board that rigid about "that's the rule and that's it."

After a couple of cocktails and a BBQ, we can usually work things out. The key is not having too many rules. We ditched a lot of the BS years ago.
