Crazy season. Really sucks we couldn't pull out the win today. We most likely could have sealed our bid. Bama is a tough matchup for us. I don't know what the deal was, but we could not get into our offensive groove. This loss stings, but it's not the end of the world.

Say what you want about the team or Martin, but the fact is that we had a solid regular season. It was no surprise that we struggled early against good competition (Georgetown, UVA, Memphis, etc), but it was very encouraging to see our resilience and how we improved throughout SEC play.

I know some will refuse to believe this, but we still have a decent chance at making the NCAAs. Our resume is nothing to scoff at, and it is objectively better than the vast majority of other bubble teams. JMO, I would put our chances at no less than 60% as of right now, and I think we ultimately will be selected on Sunday.

Regardless of what happens, this has been another fun season of UT basketball. We can get hung up on our weaknesses, but it would be a sham to act like we weren't playing excellent ball for a significant stretch. Here's to good vibes to the selection committee on the opinion of us! Can't wait to see what's in store for us!

GO VOLS!!

I am with ya bro. I am proud of the way we came together as a team at the end of the year. We happen to have some Bi-polar fans here at Volnation however. The sky is falling!

Tell me about it.

Don't get me wrong, we may not make it in, but its unreasonable to say we have no chance.

This thread filled me with all sorts of happiness after all the BS threads, yet again. Thank you for this.

20 wins W/O Maymon people. It was a great season.

Especially considering that cold stretch in the middle. We will have real problems if we can't maintain our poise next season. I just don't know how I'd feel if we had another cold-hot season.

We were 11-10 at one point.

Nothing like settling for just below mediocrity.

If you follow baskketball at all I am sure at the beginning of the year you would have said that without maymon this year there is no way way we make the tourney. I get so tired of people who take every opportunity they can find to trash our team!

I'll agree, even if the season ends on Sunday, it's been a great ride. Next year's roster looks pretty damn good. Hopefully we'll finally have everyone healthy though.

I think we'll end up in when it's all said and done though.

In all seriousness, great post. Was a real pleasure to read and a nice shift from the idiocy floating around the board.

I agree with you by the way. 60% is the right number. We'll get in IMO. We'll be in the First Four, which I had hoped to avoid, but dancing is dancing. I'll take anything at this point.

Witch Doctor remember 10 years ago there was talk of tearing down TBA to build something smaller as we were a football school. 20 wins without Maymon? Havent found anyone picked that(mid Jan. I wouldnt have thought NIT) especially the ones acting all dramatic about the loss now.

Thanks dude. After I thought some more, 60% may be a little generous, but I'd say at least 50.

End of season a great run but the coach n team has some issues n the only way to over come coaching is with better talent so next year will be a great sign of ccm abilities. Better athletes n hopefully no injuries . I still say we struggle next year with teams that r big inside.

Im not sure the big deal on NCAA except recruiting n maybe money.. we have no chance to make a run. Its like inviting the last person not picked because u need someone to run over... lol

No chance to make noise in NCAA... Maybe one win.

I'm sure VCU is glad they didn't take your advice a couple years back...there's a reason it's called march madness and the term Cinderella is used.

Inviting someone to be ran over? We wouldn't be a 16 seed, likely a 12. You realize one or two 12s beat a 5 just about every year right? Apparently not.
