It seems funny to look at how many fans feel that their school is slighted by ESPN and sports reporters from around the country. I always thought that, when it came to aTm, for the most part the national media always gave us a fair shake. When were "just decent" thats what they said. When we were "a team with potential, but had a lot of work to do", they said that. Sure, they could have come out and called it what it was but no one wants to let college kids know they suck even if they really do.
Now we have developed ourselves into more than just an overhyped football team. I say that because I live here. I know ...I know, our football program is under construction and rightly so, but Im talking Basketball...yes basketball at aTm.
We had Billy here and he rebuilt the program. He was great at recruiting. He was a great manager of the game, he was a great role model, when....not all aggie coaches were being role models. Now Billy and Acie are gone, BUT!!!!! This fella from Wichita aint too shabby either. Look at his pedigree. Look at who he has learned the game from. Look what he's done at other schools, and lastely, look what he's done at aTm thus far. We are 7-0. We won the preseason NIT in New York on our first trip ever. We have great post play from the seniors and these younger guards are filling the shoes of Acie quite well.
In short, when I heard last nights commentators utter the words, "Alabama will be a good test tonight, we'll learn if these guys are over-rated or not here at aTm" I was ticked. Real ticked to be exact. Why would anyone in the nation with two brain cells think that?
and lastly, to all my Vol buddies, I thought this would be a nice topic and an opportunity to pick on the bammers one more time so ...feel free to jump aboard at your own will.
