My son and I have it and this is the first time I've even been able to sit up in a day. My son is four and has been consistently puking since Saturday night. I'm afraid we are going to have to take him to the hospital. A friend called it the norovirus but I don't know what it is. I haven't been this sick in 20 years.
Has anyone else been through this recently? Please tell me it will end soon.

I'd say it's past time for a trip to the ER, especially for your son

If he can't keep any fluids down at this point, then you need to call the doctor.

My father-in-law is a doctor and he's still advising us to hold tight.
He might change his mind soon, though. The thing is that he'll say he's fine and get up and play with his brother and then it will just hit him again.
We are going to continue to try to pour pedialyte down his throat to see if that will help at all. If he isn't better in a few hours we are probably headed to Children's. I probably won't be able to go unless I have a rapid recovery.

Try a small amount of children's liquid benadryl for your son. It actually can stop vomiting.

Drink buttermilk, as much as you can stand at a time for a while.

We've had 2 bouts run thru our house. Lots of vomiting at night. Feels relatively fine during the day..eats, plays, etc. Runs its course in 3-4 days.

Had it last weekend, have seen about a thousand kids with it in the office. It actually shut down Loudon County, Lenoir City, and then Monroe County schools recently.

Zofran is a wonder-drug.

The last time I had the stomach bug, it was April 07. There is not a simple sickness worse than a stomach virus.

Whatever strain this is that is going around is of the devil. You get it...after a while, you feel fine, then here it comes again. It took over a week to get rid of it completely. Best of luck to you.

My wife went to go pick up some Zofran just a little while ago. We've heard it is a life saver.

Yes it is. My pediatrician told me about Keifer Milk, too. It is around the health food section in Kroger. It has added probiotics in it to help balance the good bacteria. It is thicker than normal milk, and my kid loved it. There is plain, choc, or strawberry.

Promethazine used to be the go to prescription antiemetic and it works great but it makes you sleepy. It knocks me on my butt. Zofran stops the nausea without the tired feeling.

Zofran seems to have helped so far.
Thought you guys would appreciate the scene last night as he fell asleep beside his vomit bucket. In his hands, he was holding a photograph of inside Neyland. He later told us it was making him feel better. He's four.

Bless his heart. So sorry you guys are so sick. It's hard watching the little ones feel so bad.

Nobody else is going to, so I'm gonna say it. Be sure Mrs. Panthro has a nice Valentine's Day. :) She's been putting up with a lot. Hard enough to take care of a sick child. Add a sick husband to that, and ......

Already taken care of! It wasn't just the four year old and me that she had to deal with this week. We also have a three year old who is right in the middle of the-terrible-threes (terrible twos isn't a real thing).
The little guy wasn't sick, but he was not liking having to stay away from big bro and share a lot of attention.
I offered her a make out session last night but was surprisingly denied!

The sick kid seems to be better. Hasn't been sick in about 18 hours.
