This rumor was all over the KY discussion boards prior to last week's game. Nothing came of the predicted (last) Monday firing.

Yep. I'm starting to think it was started by a fan to get him fired.

Good. With this kind of distraction on the Kentucky sideline, Alabama may just have a chance tomorrow.

Though I hope you pee yourself and soil your pants in two weeks, this stuff is why I kinda like you! Haha

Worst decision in KY football, the naming of Joker Phillips as HC.
Guess the joke was on KY.

Rick Brooks spoiled them with his 8-5 seasons.

That was a pretty long time ago though. I think they were pleasantly surprised to land a coach with a resume like Stoops (family name/pedigree, had just won a national title at Florida St as the DC) and got their expectations too high.

It's his first head coaching gig and Kentucky is a difficult place to recruit.

Here's everything you need to know about how good that hire was. Joker is currently a quality control coach at Ohio State.

He was good enough to be Kentucky's HC at one time, but now he watches film for Urban.

I think the expectations came from him going from 2-10 in his first season, then starting 5-1 his second and 4-1 his third season, only to fall apart both seasons.

Fans probably thought he just needed to get over the hump and get over losing some of their winnable close loses, yet this season looks to be the same 'ol same 'ol.

Good point, although their schedules were so back loaded both seasons you had to know the losses were coming. Still, difficult to be one game away from bowl eligibility midway through the season and not make it.

Stoops left Tallahassee for UK the year before FSU won the national championship, Jeremy Pruitt was DC for the title team. Stoops put together a good staff and they have recruited better than Kentucky has in two decades. That's why the hype.
