NO. NO. NO. :banghead2:Just because we are losing against them, doesn't mean we shouldn't play them. How dare you, this is tradition, this is history.
Yeah? You want to repeat the Revolutionary War and the Wary of 1812 every few years? History and tradition doesn't mean it should be repeated for infinity.
I see both sides of this argument and respect both. I actually believe in the not too distant future this issue will resolve itself with conference scheduling potentially killing the idea of traditional cross division rivalries. It doesn't mean we won't ever play Bama, just that we won't play them as often. They won't always be up either, but from the start of this conference they have been the best team, with us right behind.

Don't read this as me wanting to get rid of Bama as our rival, I don't. I am just not scared of change or the future. Either way, we are still TN and they still suck.
As a long time Bama fan, I hope the annual Tennessee/Alabama game continues. I always enjoy the semi-annual trip up to Knoxville. I can't imagine any true Tide or Vol fan wanting this series to end. It has always been a series of streaks and it is always a thrill to see the Tide end one of those streaks after we have lost for several years. I'm sure Tennessee fans feel the same when the Vols end a Bama winning streak. I always looked forward to the 3rd Saturday in October and wish the conference had left that as a standing date for the Tennessee/Bama game.
I have read some ignorant things on the internet, but stop playing Bama takes the cake. Stop playing a 112 year old tradition because they are winning? If we are going to get beat I would rather it be to a potential National Champion.
I wonder if that is how Bama fans felt when the roles were reversed. Most recently from '95 to 2001.
The last 7 years in this rivalry the score differential has been 35.5 to 10.7 It's not just the fact that Bama is winning, as in the fulmer "error," it's the dominance exercised.
I would love to see a poll regarding our rivalry. How many births, weddings etc have been scheduled around this rivalry.
That won't happen. We will pretty much always be at a disadvantage playing Bama, but it won't change anytime soon because it is a rivalry.
