I'm very frustrated too. I had a good feeling about this game and I witnessed this, it sucks. But you know what? This mess isn't gonna be fixed with whining, complaining, saying how we quit, pointing fingers...etc. things will get better...everyone on here was praising butch after beating South Carolina...now ya'll are off the bandwagon. Stop. Calm down. We got outplayed and outcoached, it happens. This mess created by kiffin and Dooley is not gonna be fixed overnight....better times are ahead. I'm still on the butch train and you should too. Give credit to Missouri. They're a great team....just better than us. Instead of complaining, how about chill out, keep supporting this team and realize better days are ahead.
And I ask you negative nancies how you forget why we're this frickin bad? Yes I'm tired of next year and excuses too but it's like you people forget why Tennessee is in this position.
No matter how bad some people on here want to think Mizzou sucks they have beat, Fla, UGA, lost to SC in OT and just beat the hell out of us. They will win the East this year and have at least a 9-3 record and could go 11-1 with Franklin back.
It takes more than luck to do that in the SEC.
Withhold judgement until then.
As someone else said, Butch already has his signature win, which is better than the last staff. Just give him time to recruit his guys. Withhold judgement until then. Being frustrated is fine, but completely giving up because of it shows that you have the self-control of a teenager.
Neither the head coach or this team is immune from criticism. This performance tonight was an embarrassment to the university and to the state of Tennessee.
Having said that, Butch has my full support. But if this kind of performance continues, he will be like Dooley, 3 and done. There is no excuse for punting the ball when you are behind the way we were. You make an attempt to win the game, even if the odds of winning are miniscule.
So to be a "true" fan, I must just keep sticking my head up my a$$ and pray for the better days huh?
A first year coach against another coach who has been there running his system with his players for quite a few years is the answer to this ridiculous question.I understand fully why we're in this position. But help me understand how UM has 2-3 stars who make our 2-4 stars look like community college players?
understand the sentiment.....I will say....at first i had the same thought about punting...but given the situation and time...that last punt made sense....don't give them an another easy opportunity to score.....I thought about when I was in a similar situation as a player....during a bad season...against a better team that day...
I doubt very many on here are giving up. But this a message board. Designed to communicate opinions about the team's and the staff's performance. Oddly enough, when UT wins, it'll more than likely be positive. When they seem to be regressing and playing very poorly on the way to being manhandled rather easily by a combined score of 76-13 in consecutive weeks.... probably gonna be negative.
This team is not improving. I'm currently feeling pretty damn frustrated, negative and critical regarding this team and have expressed it in numerous threads during the game. Not giving up, not wanting Butch fired, not hating our players.
Again, this is a message board.
I don't think anyone in their right mind doesn't see a talent problem. No you have to pull it out and see how bad we are behind!! CBJ will need 2 more yrs with good recruits to be competitive. We just don't have SEC players across board. Come on man you see the difference. We ain't even close yet, but we will be!!! True fan or not, it's going to take time. We got 3 to win 2, and that's our goal!!! It is what it is.
