Really, is it supposed to be done after EVERY upset? Providence has a cottage industry built on ambushing ranked BE opponents at home, and it's not they beat a top shelf UConn team. Win against the odds before you pull a Chaminade.

It's also against NCAA rules. The Cocks were fined $25,000 for their fans rushing the court against Kentucky.

Your students stormed the court against us, back when UF had a competitive basketball team and whatnot.

I think the fine was a little uncalled for...they said at the stadium to "Not rush the court after the game" but I don't see how South Carolina is going to restrict several thousand students/fans from rushing the court...

But I do agree that rushing the court is a little overplayed, as well as fans rushing the court having the possibility of causing danger to players and fans...

It has good intentions because people can get hurt, but it still is hard to enforce. It's hard to stop hundreds if not not thousands of people from rushing a basketball court.

There is also a story now that a SC student alleged that Demarcus Cousins "cold Cocked" him with a punch while the students stormed the court. Supposedly a SC reporter verified that he seen it. However the kid has no physical proof, nor can the reporter produce anything either. ESPN has released a few video's, but you really cannot make anything out of them.

My guess is that while trying to get to the locker room, some idiot SC fan ran in front of Cousins running his yapper, and actually made physical contact with Cousins, which resulted perhaps in a push or something. Something tells me that if Demarcus cousins punched you in the face, you AND the public would be able to tell it.

They couldn't restrict them...I thought it was amusing to watch the end how security was trying to hold people back after half of the students already ran on the court, what's the point then. They just ran past them!

In '99 (I think) the Hokie fans stormed the field after they beat Miami, ripped down the goal posts and carried one of the uprights to a local sports bar downtown a couple of miles away. University asked for it back and the bar said no. Its still hanging on the wall.

Now if they think the students are going rush the field, they lower the goalposts and have police guard them while the students party at the 50 yd line. Students will even take pictures with the cops. Its pretty cool and amusing at the same time.

Werd is that an overzealous USC fan got punched twice by Cousins.

Wouldn't be the first Cal player to do so.

I love the "Mempis" sign.

I fail to see the connection, but the "no storming the court/field" rules are good ones to protect the players from crazy fans.

probably the most intense game I've even been to. That night was nuts

Agree 100%.

I'm still amazed VOLatile has never seen highlights of that game and the aftermath. That game is one of the most historic wins in UT football history.

On a side note, I wonder what happened to those CBS cameras on the goalposts? :p
