The local paper ran a story today about Ashley Lawson. He has been contacted by Serrano about a possible position on his staff. It also stated that he had been contacted by the University of Miami and one other unnamed university, as well as, three MLB clubs.

*The writer referred to Serrano as "Paul Seranno."

Looks like those that thought the hiring of Lawson was a bad thing were wrong. He did a great job (for what he had to work with) with those pitchers this year. Much improved from 2009. I wish him the best of luck wherever he goes, and thank him for his service to the Big Orange.

My bad. Thinking of Beverlin. My comments reflect what he did for the pitchers, but I did like Lawson and wish him the same luck as Beverlin.

Of course, the source appears to be Ash....and from what I could tell, he is better at self promotion than he was at actually coaching.

I know he has several offers to get back into high-level scouting right now. He's holding out for the stability of a college assistant job because of his young family.

Respectfully, you guys can believe what you want about Lawson, but he's a good coach and a good man. Ask any player from last year's team. They all had a lot of respect for Lawson. Not so much for the other two.

I don't doubt that players liked him. Especially considering who else he coached with.

But dude is all about himself. Plain and simple.

Got a friend that played for him at Wesleyan. Good coach, terrible person was how he described him.
