In a game that was decided by a single pitch, Tennessee could not back up junior Steven Gruver's solid, eight-inning performance with any run support, falling to third-ranked South Carolina on Friday night at Lindsey Nelson Stadium. The Volunteers managed just three hits and six total baserunners in the contest, with none moving past second base.

Take away the homer, and there's no telling how that game ends up.

When people grasp for straws on the possibility of getting one win, just one win, it's time to go back to the drawing board and start over. It's not like they are a post season quality team, they are 2-9 in SEC play already. All it is now is a CTR watch.

Probably still a Vol loss.

UT was playing solid defense. Our bats were stifled for most of the game. We loaded the bases that one time, but other than that, we were pretty inept on the offensive side.

I get so frustrated watching our team. There must be change made in our staff. I'm sure thats the last thing MH wants to do, but our baseball program has to find new direction. JMO
