is ridiculous. We had to sit in the last 6 rows of 329 for Ole Miss. We are consistently a ranked team, and we only seem to get better. Every other school that I have been to a basketball game at has their student section all along at least one sideline, with overflow still being in the lower level. What gives? We're the ones who usually pump the noise in the stadium, why put us out of the picture? A lot of us that regularly attend bball games really feel like we're getting shafted.

I agree, Tennessee students do get some bad seats. Here at OU, the students get seating all along the opposite sideline from the benches and it is great. I'm always on the front row, meaning I get to stand on the floor and be a couple of feet from the players.

However, with TBA's configuration, it would be hard for the student seating to change.

I don't know how it is now, but when I was there... you've gotta camp out to get good seats. Like camp out the night before, or maybe two days before for some games.

I got screwed at a lady vols game a couple times and had to go to the upper deck. Does kinda suck.

I didn't have any problem getting 4th row for the Lady Vols game tonight, but men's games are just ridiculous.

it used to be even worse. Students had that little sliver in a corner. Of course then if anyone cheered at the game, they'd get fussed at for disturbing those around them. ;-)
I'm glad to see that Pearl was able to convince the powers that be to remove seats under one basket for students. Would love to see even more "prime" seats given to students so they can continue to rock the house and help us win games.

My senior year (07/08 season) there were talks of putting students behind the other goal as well. I guess they decided against this. I thought it'd be a good idea, since as it is now the opposing team only has to play offense in front of the student section in the 1st half.

Which games are you going to? Sure you all manage to fill up big(ger) games. But during 2009, the student section was empty. To the point it was embarassing...

Show up for every game, and maybe I can get on board with moving the seats.

I go to games relatively consistently. I went to 3 or 4 over winter break, and I've been to all of them since Kansas. I think a lot of people are going pretty consistently this year.

Usually I would agree that students should have good seats, but the fact of the matter is that there are a # of games that the students don't show up. Until the students consistantly show up in droves for every game then they can sell these seats to fans that are willing to pay and give a donation. Students need to come to every game or they will continually see there allotment dwindle.

I go to every game, but the system is broken. I agree that students don't go enough, but one of the problems is that you have to be there an hour early to get lower bowl seats.

I am a die hard and put up with it, but I have plenty of friends who refuse to go because they don't want to got an hour early or they don't want to sit in the nose bleeds. Add to the fact that you now have to sign up online it makes it even harder for me to convince someone to go at the last second.

Saying all that there are still plenty of students who go that could make up the first 5 to 6 rows opposite the benches. It has nothing to do with how many people show up and everything to do with MONEY!

Show up earlier?

The good seats in the house are grandfathered in to a boatload of people. It's what paid to get the place built.

agreed. pathetic seating. People have better things to do on Saturdays than show up to a game 3 hours early.

Some people don't. Call Duke, they can tell you about waiting outside....I seem to recall them showing up just a little early.

For free tickets, it's really not hard to go early. A lot of my friends moaned about having to wait for the seats, but I've got no sympathy.

Or, buy cheap tickets off the street, go before the the student seats open and snag a seat before them.
