Ah, the days when you had to camp out and run faster than everyone else to get a good seat.

No, you still have to do this. Basically we have to go online to "activate" our Vol card so it'll work when we scan it. And you have to do this for every game.

Oh ok, made it seem like you guys were going to have assigned seating this year.

That hasn't changed. Registering online only guarantees that you get in the game. It doesn't determine the location of your seat.

I registered for the 4 they let me. I don't think you get penalized for not going, because there aren't loyalty points. I'm pretty sure this is their way of being able to sell the unused student seats.

Hadn't thought of that. Makes perfect sense, seemed to be quite a few empty spots in the student section last season.

Florida students register like this for basketball as well. But, I don't think they sell unused spots. Students who don't register can show up at the O'Dome and get in if space is available. At tipoff, they can take the spot of someone who registered but hasn't shown up.

I got my tickets for the first four games today. Once you activate your card, I assume you are guaranteed to get in the game, just not where you sit.

I was hoping the unrealistic students would be crying about the ticket price so the real fans could get them instead (see football student ticket "Cry-baby" thread").

Do Ushers stand at the entrance of the student section and check or can anyone just take a seat?

Big games they will usually check. Two years ago before I was a student here, I would just act like I knew what I was doing and go down there. Like I said though, big games will be much harder to get seats in there.

Sorry to disappoint a "real" fan. It would seem that you are the one crying about the situation. Let it go.

How often does TBA have a full house? Like one freakin' game and that's the UK game - because of UK fans - so that's pretty irrelevant.

You would know there are always plenty of seats/tickets if you went to basketball games or tried to get tickets to them quite a bit as often as you're trying to imply.

So getting a ticket shouldn't be an issue - but you can always take the student tickets that are in the corner by the new luxury boxes where your view is block partially.

I know that for the standing section behind the basket, ushers hand out wristbands to students so they make sure that non-students don't take those spots. For the seated sections I think they just check your ID at the section entrance.

If this is true when would unused student tix go on sale and why would this not already have been stated? I think it's a good idea jw how they would manage the sale of these tickets based on such a late determination of empty seats.
