I went to the game last weekend. This was the first time at the stadium since the north endzone renovations. How the heck did they put in a jumbotron and the social deck, but only lose about 500 seats??

I think the social deck contributes based on its capacity. It's standing-room-only, crowded-as-a-nightclub capacity.

More than makes up for many of the seats lost.

Heh.

I get that, but it appears that the jumbotron took out thousands.

Not counting the fact that they replaced all the benches on the west sideline with seatback stadium chairs

Those seats in the upper decks on that side are nothing like the ones other side - very roomy. No doubt they can stand many more than were seated in the sections removed. SRO always > the number of physical seats.

There are no stupid questions. There are only stupid people that ask questions.

EDIT: Not taking a shot at OP.

It was 540 seats, does that make it more understandable?
The Party deck has a stated capacity of 1200. There are about 30 seats per section per row in that area and the social deck and Jumbotron take up about 2 sections, so for the 1740 (1200 plus 450 lost seats) seats and 60 seats per row that's 29 rows and there are only 26 rows in that part of the upper deck so the question should be "how did we lose 450 seats"

Same way the airlines take an airplane that held 300 people and make it hold 330.

I truly don’t get why folks pay a premium for those tickets. No seats, sun all game. And your bonus is quick access to overpriced concessions.
