Sucks for UConn

Coach Edsall is really selling it,, I was just wondering how many UCONN fans would make the trip out west,,,so far 4,000 have made the leap. Still this is a great place to be for a team that has been playing D1 for what, 10 years?

First off they have no business being in a BCs bowl to begin with, and I am sure the final score of that game will prove so.

Secondly, that is a sad situation.

But this is the best system we have. No reason to amend because they said so.

What??? Are you saying meaningless bowl games aren't bringing in loads of spectators and ticket sales???? No way! Lol.

That's another big problem with the bowl games: only one really means anything. ALL the rest are just glorified scrimmages with differing levels of prestige.

OMG, the the average ticket price is almost $200 each. Its just an average game.

"The Fiesta Bowl distributed 17,500 tickets to UConn, and the school is responsible to sell them all. The cheapest of those tickets cost $111 (in the lower end zone) and can cost as much as $268 for club level."

My buddy who lives in phoenix got good seats for $30. They hamstring the schools by charging them uncompetative prices.

Hopefully, they'll make it up somewhere. I remember watching them on local TV and going to the games when their stadium wasn't much more than a high school stadium.

The old stadium on campus was more or less a HS place. I remember getting pizza there as a kid, hating it, yet getting it every time I went.

Sometimes, we'd party and watch the game from the hill next to the field. I'm sure that is all gone. Back then, they showed every UCONN football and basketball game on the local channel. Can't remember which one now.

Yea that's all levelled and is a newer athletic complex. Too bad that they couldn't put the new stadium on campus, but Storrs is a pretty inconvenient place to get to, especially for a very casual, overall fanbase
