but not a sucky season.

Overall, we need to take away the positives of the year.

We got a ton better.

We got a five star player.

Golden and McRae, despite tonight's struggles, really came on strong the end of the year.

The NIT sucks, yes, but you got to make the most of it. This is the perfect opportunity for us to work on our zone offense.

We get more practices and games. For a young team, every experience helps.

They had a good year, and it's not over. There is still room to grow and I believe that UT can even make a run in the NIT.

Haven't been this angry/depressed over a UT game since the Music City Bowl. Amazing how this garbage continues to happen to our program.

Same here, but I kind of figured we would lose to begin with, that's why I
never made a game prediction. Im very
much looking forward to watching this team in the NIT. Glad we have at least 1 more game to watch

I kinda had a bad feeling too. Ole Miss is just so long and athletic. They should be an NCAA Tourney team with their talent. I don't understand how Andy Kennedy still has a job there. Ole Miss is so poorly coached.

THIS.

Name ONE good thing that has come from being a Tennessee fan since our trip to the Elite Eight. Football or Basketball. That's right... There's NOTHING. Everything never fails to go wrong for UT, and even more so in crunch time of whatever game is happening. Exhibit A: tonight.

I'm just mad at myself for thinking that this... curse(?) would end tonight... for thinking tonight would be any different at all.

McBee's three was pretty epic. Haven't jumped out of my chair like that since... Well since his last epic three against Kansas haha.

At the end of the day, this is how you have to look at it. We exceeded expectations, and then disappointed at the very end. We overachieved, so we all thought that was who we were when it really, sadly, was not. So it was satisfying and disappointing at the same time. Quite a strange situation.

Im disappointed tonight but it was a good season. Im excited to have CCM here and about the future. It was a terrible call at the end but did anybody notice we looked more fatigued than ole miss and they played last night. I thought we played to lose with about 3 mins left on regulation. But I give them credit they still got it to overtime. It just wasnt our night. Im not really excited about nit but at least they can work on their game some more. Got vols!

I don't understand why Martin didn't try a zone defense in the second half. Poor coaching, IMO. Even if you are mostly a man-for-man defensive teams, changing defenses is usually smart: It gives the opponent something to think about, something different they must adjust to. Ole Miss ran the same pick and rolls throughout the second half, got confident, and shot very well--and Martin didn't try anything different.

To everyone feeling screwed, I feel you, and I'm right there with you. But along with the OP, think about how freaking hard these guys had to work in order to put us in this position to expect this kind of success. These guys pulled off nothing short of miraculous, taking the #2 seed in the SEC, when the top of the conference was NOT weak by any stretch of the mind. While we aren't going to have record breaking results, I think I'm as proud of THIS team as I was with the Elite 8 team.

Our fans should carry pride in the way that our boys continued to make progress throughout the year. They wore that orange and did it well.

This team, next year, is going to be a top 25 team, top 15 team, potentially top 10 team. It's going to be a heck of a ride next year guys.

I agree. At the minimum I think we should've played zone in the OT. Once Maymon went out, we had no answer for their physicality down low. Cuonzo is a smart guy though. He may learn more from this loss than anyone else.

Any post season for this bunch is an amazing story. To think of where the program was when they walked off the court in Charlotte in the loss to Michigan to now is AMAZING.

They should have fouled Trae Golden at mid court. Bad coaching decision.

Just can't be too mad over it. Never expected much this year and got more than expected. 10-6 in conference was a solid effort.

I'm talking about a significant game we won. A game where our guys pulled through in the clutch. A game where we DIDN'T choke at the end or get a bad break (bad call, bad bounce) of some kind.

I do believe the future is bright. I love our guys. Don't get me wrong.

Let me think. . . .

How about vs. Vandy, 2012?

@UF?

UConn?
