Rich Rod had really good recruiting classes, he just couldn't put it together on the field. UM has some talent.

I'm halfway between TN and Virginia Tech. Virginia Tech fans are the worst. They absolutely hate TN fans around here and act like we're their biggest rivals. Local saying around here is, "Virginia Tech: 100 years of football and 10 years of tradition."

Michigan State fans are in full meltdown mode right now. It's one of the most hilarious things I've ever seen.

Tech is a joke I have to hear that crap everywhere I go, what part of Virginia are you in I live 45 min from blacksburg

I'm in Hampton and I have to hear their crap all the time. I have to hear them claim to be one of the top 10 programs all time. It makes me want to be physically sick. I hate that they play patsie schedules and still claim 10 win seasons as if they had just made a run through the SEC or any other legitimate conference. I swear VT would schedule The Virginia School for the Deaf and Blind if they could and their fans would still talk it up like they just beat LSU. They are without a doubt the most delusional fan base in the country when it comes to their place in the history of college football, which according to how they smack-talk began with Michael Vick in '99.

Money is the only explanation for this bowl matchup. There are about five or six teams out there more deserving of this game than either VA Tech or Michigan.

Full meltdown was "running into the kicker" last night. THAT was full melt down.

Right now we are just pissed, but accepting the fact the BCS is not looking to reward teams for their season, they are just looking to line their own pocketbooks.

um beat ONE ranked team. Va Tech, I believe, also be ONE ranked team.

VaTech got freaking Schooled in their Conf Champ game, and um DIDNT EVEN WIN THEIR OWN DIVISION!

um is just like most of their fans, getting rewarded for sitting at home doing nothing. BCS is nothing more than welfare. (no offense intended to the michigan fans with a life outside of football)

We've seen bigger meltdowns that this. But for the most part those days are over.

Our team plays their asses off. Our coaching staff has us on the right path. Mark Dantonio has balls the size of redneck mudtires. And man, I love this team. They have heart. They have made a few mistakes, but damn they play their asses off every second of every minute of every game. Cant ask for more than that.

I feel for you man. Been a rough couple years, Michigan State has been a very good football team and is now getting screwed two years in a row. Getting passed over for Michigan, who you beat and won the division over, has to suck.

VT didn't even beat a ranked team. Their "best" win is over an extremely mediocre GTech squad.

Michigan making it is wrong, but VT making a BCS bowl is an absolute mockery.

Yeah, it sucks pretty bad. Last night was probably the lowest of football lows for me personally. Im 46 and have been a Spartan all my life. (Ive survived Denny Stolz, Darryl Rogers, Muddy Waters, George Perles, Bobby Williams, John L Smith. . . . holy crap that is a list of suck right there!! Not to mention I also had to endure Pell and Hall at UF through all of this) But it wasnt a low like the previous ones where you go "damn, this team sucks" or "Holy crap thats embarrassing".

This was just feeling so bad for a bunch of kids that play with so much heart and give everything they have all season. And that game last night was freaking BALLS! I dont know if yall saw all of it, or the highlights. Take a look at the Cousins to Nichol to Cunningham pass. Man, this was a classic game. It sucks that it ended the way it did.

As for michigan, we are used to getting jobbed by their "popularity". We beat them on the field. I think this gives some pretty good incentive for next year. Have to beat Uga to get the respect we think we deserve. If we dont do that, then all the whining means nothing.

Looking forward to Jan 2. Especially since my former boss is a Uga fan (tenn tech grad!, but Uga Honk) Im going to need this win!!

I couldnt remember if it was 1 or none. Thanks.

Yeah, I think the only way to change this is the networks have to step in and complain about loss of income due to crappy matchups. ESPN, NBC, ABC, CBS, FOX.. . . . . have to bring the big guns and make a change.

Should have to be in your leagues Championship game to make any BCS game. Bama included. I think Bama is probably the 2nd or 3rd best team in the country, but they had their chance and lost. If you dont win your conference, you dont deserve in the Nat Champ game. Period.

Don't you think money is a motivator for many bowl games? Who is going to travel well and who is going to spend the most money when they get there.

I agree that money is a huge motivator for selection in all bowl games.
