With all of the interest in the various sports why not have a separate index for:

VolNation Football
VolNation Men's Baseketball
VolNation Lady Vols
VolNation Baseball etc.

This is the structure on many of the other college discussion boards from schools with major athletic programs. It seems to better facilitate discussion groups.

I don't like it because I count on the cross-over appeal of the various threads to give me a wider audience of UT fans to harangue, tease, and generally annoy....

I dont like it at all, too much going back and fourth and then we wont be able to make football and basketball references in the same thread...

You think that would actually stop anyone??

There's not much point to having dead forums as far as the eye can see. There's only a small group who take interest and post about Lady Vols and Baseball stuff.

I could see where it might be an advantage to have the seperate forums if there were 10,000 members or so....We're not there YET.

Personally, I like how it is now.

I like the mix too. I just think the offseason of some sports could really allow them to get ignored. Yes fball is big but it's nice to see an ice hockey thread pop up w/ just an update on their season. It would just get lost in the shuffle.

I agree OWB. I would just wait untill there were more members. I mean there is like what maybe 40 to 50 members that are on here consistencly?

I have to go with OWB on this one. The VolBoard hasn't had any trouble keeping up with all the major UT sports. I really don't see any point in creating a whole forum for the same 2-3 posters who happen to share an interest in a certain sport.

Just my two cents, though. I'll go with whatever vol_freak decides.

Instead of by sports, how about dividing the threads this way: Pro-Fulmer Vol Discussion; Anti-Fulmer Vol Discussion :ninja: :blush2:

(please forgive me for what I may have started :biggrin2: )

I catch up by "view new posts" so it doesn't matter to me which forum they're in because everything that has been posted in all forums show up . I don't see the need for seperate forums since the big 3 (Football, basketball-men's and womens, and baseball/softball) don't overlap much with their seasons.

Agree with OWB - unnecessary complexity.

For Vol in B'ham - that would just give the haters two places to post their venom.

Good Idea.

I think we should add another index for the other SEC teams like LSU, Bama, Florida, etc. So it will look like this:

VolNation Football
VolNation Men's Baseketball
VolNation Lady Vols
VolNation Baseball etc.
Volnation Brokeback (LSU, Bama, Florida, etc)

You are hereby banned forever.

But then you wouldn't have anyone to talk to you...

I think we should have a LIO forum where she can talk to herself.

When you start dividing up forums, the message board takes a nosedive from mediocrity. Just ask our old friend toddbond.....

Personally I like it the way it is, I only read this board. It's easy enough to skim the subjects and figure out which sport the thread is about. I guess I could start reading multiple boards but I'm lazy. :snoring:

Indeed

Personally, I like keeping the number of forums at a minimum as long as threads don't start piling up.
