I heard Sumlin's name being tossed around at USC but I think he stays. He seems to like it at A&M. Be intresting to see how he fairs once Johnny Football is gone.

Why would he leave?

He will stay as long as Johnny football is there. All bets are off after that

I think Sumlin is a Texas guy, as he was at Houston before this. Maybe Texas was trying to do something.

This is an interesting thought. I haven't heard his name thrown around for the NFL. Who do you think, NFL wise, would go after him?

I don't know a specific team. But earlier in the year I remember hearing some talk that he was considered in the NFL as the next college coach that will get NFL offers. Him and David Shaw.

Just got that update on my phone as well. Guess that settles it. He will be there for at least another year.

John McClain from the Houston Chronicle said this week on 104.5 the Zone that Shaw could name his team and salary in the NFL. He has an NFL pedigree and is apparently highly thought of around the league.

Smart move on his part, cash in before Manziel leaves just in case things don't go as well the next few years.

I saw on ESPN where his contract supposedly has a clause in it that will not allow him to seek employment in the NFL. Anyone else see that?
