* Thus far, the SEC is 17-5. Alabama and South Carolina complete their games on Monday.
* Florida, Mississippi State, North Carolina, Virginia, Vanderbilt, Arizona State, UC-Irvine and Oregon State advance to Super Regional play.
*#8 National Seed Rice Owls eliminated even before Region final play.
*Host teams eliminated thus far: Rice, TCU, Georgia Tech and Fullerton. Hosts Texas, Texas A&M, Clemson and UCLA have 1 loss
* The SEC will likely have 4 teams advancing to Supers. w/ 3 hosting. 1 is guaranteed to go to CWS. A max of 3 can go to CWS.
*The ACC will likely have 4 teams advancing with 3 hosting. A max of 4 can go to CWS. None are guranteed.
*The Big-12 has been slaughtered as they are 7-8 with 2 games remaining this weekend.

SEC 17-5
ACC 15-7
Big East 5-5 (surprising)
Big West 4-2
Pac-10 15-4
Summit 3-1 (Oral Roberts)
Conference USA 4-8 (surprisingly bad)

Decent chance now that Serrano is named coach tomorrow or Tuesday....what do you think?

By the way, if you had stayed up last night. Fullerton was hosed!

That was an absolutely terrible call. It wasn't even close.

It was nice to hear the announcers bring up the Tennessee job during that game, sounds like Serrano to UT is getting some serious pub.

Serrano needs to learn to give the bunt sign, leadoff walk in 9th and you don't bunt? WTF.........he cried all night about the umpires. Balls and srikes, Stanford coming out of the dugout on that home run. Granted, CSF was screwed on that trapped fly ball, but Serrano seemed to be a cry baby.

Leave Serrano alone. One can only imagine the mental toll getting a degree from a truckstop/beauty shop/university takes on a man. He's obviously still recovering.

By the way, if you had stayed up last night. Fullerton was hosed! Sure a lot of experts picked the more talented (yet underachieving) Stanford team to win the Fullerton regional but they got quite a bit of assistance from the umps.

Fullerton actually scored a run from second on a fly-ball that was obviously trapped by the left fielder. It bounced a foot in front of his glove and when fielder showed the ball to umps it was on the palm of his glove.

Sure enough, the next inning there was a solo homerun which turned out to be the only run of a well pitched game. Obviously Stanford saved their #1 guy for that game.

Now Fullerton is in a bind as they will need a 4th or 5th starter to perform well to win the region. Fullerton is a small ball team so runs don't come easy anyway.

Sunday SEC Schedule

Currently:

Alabama playing Central Florida (tied 4-4) winner plays Fla State. Loser goes home
Arkansas 4:00 against Charlotte in elimination game. Winner plays 9:00 against Arizona State
Florida plays at 4:00 against current elimination game against Miami/Jacksonville
Georgia plays elimination game at 4:00 again Creighton. Winner plays Oregon State @ 9:00
Miss. State plays at 7:00 against winner of Ga. Tech and Austin Peay (let's go Peay!)
South Carolina plays at 7:00 against winner or Stetson and North Carolina State
Vanderbilt plays at 8:00 against Troy/Belmont winner

So Alabama has to win 3 games in a row to make Super Regionals. 2 against Fla State (not going to happen)
Arkansas has to rematch against Charlotte and then beat Arizona State twice (not going to happen)
Florida has to win one more game against a tired baseball team (going to happen)
Georgia has to rematch Creighton then beat host Oregon St twice (could happen but slim)
Miss State has to win one more game but they will likely have to play host Ga Tech. (good position but still difficult)
South Carolina has it made. one win against a thin staff (over tonight)
Vanderbilt has it made, will be going against midweek guy with Sunday starter (over tonight)

So, a minimum of 3 teams will make it to Super Regionals with as many as 5. Most likely 4. Three will host next weekend. Miss. State wins there one game and unfortunately will have to play in Gainesville next week. No chance to host obviously.

If Georgia gets their act together, they get to play at Vanderbilt.

So the most teams that can make College World Series is 3!

Alabama is really putting up some crooked numbers as I suspect Central Florida is out of pitching.

Texas has just fallen behind Texas State after 2 runs in 3rd by State. This could really open it up for Arizona State in paired region who will likely host next week. A Texas State/Kent State region final was not seen by anyone!

Miami is on their last chance as they are 4 outs aways from being eliminated by Jacksonville. They have 2 on though.

p.s. and as I speak Miami ties it up in the 8th as it appears Jacksonville is out of pitching. Of course, Florida still has 3 more front line guys for the Canes and Miami will have some shaky midweek and spot starters.

Are you going to continue to take potshots at him if he's hired here? Nothing but class...
