Awesome. I remember hearing they wanted Nolan to oversee the next Superman movie. I don't think he's announced if he's directing it though from the article. Can't wait to see his take on it.

I think it depends. I dont doubt that Nolan's capable, but it could really depend on the take he chooses for the character and story

if he decides that superman needs to be a really dark story or, like some of the earlier rumors, an "angry god" upset at humanity, then i'm not sure that will go well. Superman's not a dark character, he's not supposed to be

He doesn't have to make the character darker to get a darker story. He can make the world darker.

Loved Superman as a kid. He was the best comic book character ever.

I have yet to see a film that has projected what the comic was able to convey. From the true strength of his powers and abilities, the story's or the emotion of having to control his anger. He does have an angry side, it has been portrayed several times over the years. If all these things ever come together on film it will blow peoples mind. Will this be the Film that finally gets it done? People are always Rebooting a film as it has become known. I just thing that in Superman's case in particular that this has been done to many times. I just think that with all the history of the series that there is so much more content to be explored that more exemplifies all the things mentioned above, that how it begins yet again.
I would like to see his death and rebirth from the early 90's on film. Hell I would even like to see his races with the Flash or his adventures in space with and without Green Lantern. Lots of solid stories to draw from.
But yet another reboot,damn!

Has everyone seen the pics being leaked/released of the new suit? It makes the the one from Superman Returns look fantastic!

Appears that the costume designer left off the red undies to make sure everyone knows why this film is titled Man of Steel.
