Preface....I graduated 00-04 from UTK.

I will be at the game on Saturday to watch this team battle UGA. This guys on this team deserve our support, not our mockery and judgment. This staff deserves a fanbase to make that stadium as loud and as hostile as possible....that is why they wanted to come here and coach in the first place....the passion that we play with here at UT is second to none.

This board will change its tune when we beat a team that we are not supposed to be in the game with.... It will give us hope, all of the posters on here (including the A$$ clowns) want to see us win...and all of us desperately want to be a relevant football team again.

We will get there, but it is going to take time. The 14 class seems to still be intact, if we follow up that class with another top 5-10 class, we will start to upset some of these games that we now look at as, "no win situations......UA, UO, FLA, etc"

Take pride in this team we will bounce back. Our fall has been great, and too long. Our Rise will be tremendous and unimaginable.....with Neyland rocking so loud the entire country will hear us....I will be at the UGA game this Saturday.....Do I think we will win this game?...sadly no...will we compete....yes...I go to support these players who have been through so many coaching changes it sickens me.

Its not their fault, yet they go out there every Saturday and compete...that's all this staff can ask them to do. this staff has plan in place to bring us back, and I take pride in knowing that we will be back on top of the SEC east soon enough. I'm proud to be a part of this university as a former student and now as a loyal fan. I hope that many of you here in Volnation can make the tirp to Knoxville and drink beer, play cornhole, and come to a game where despite the outcome will be a blast to be at!!! GBO!!! VFL!!!!

I love the optimism! I see a very bright future and people need to harness their expectations and let this process take place.

What do the people who start all of these threads about supporting the team mean by "support"?

Do they mean financial support? Because I'm pretty sure UT still makes more money in ticket sales and donations than any other college football team coming off 3 straight losing seasons.

Do they mean support as in showing up and cheering? I doubt many 3-2 unranked teams are going to have as many in their stadium as we are Saturday.

Or instead, do they simply mean never getting on the internet and typing a negative word about anything the coaches do? Because that would be crazy.

Completely agree! Coming from a student during our better years of football its hard for me to go and watch the games and see the Big Orange play the way we have played the last decade.

But these kids have put in the work and deserve a packed loud house, I bet most of them grew up watching the vols, and none of them expected their college experience to go the way it has gone (in terms of the team being where it currently is at). I'm sure some of them are even angrier about it than us fans are, their the ones taking it on the chin every week! But we as fans going out and packing out Neyland shows every recruit out there that we are the best fanbase in football, we bring 100K strong every week no matter what and that says something to the next guys coming up.

Um, yes. You evidently are not confused by what he meant by support.

I would add eat dog meat this weekend for good mojo.

Just coming out to the games and showing up and being loud etc... I know we are already pretty good in that department, just expressing my opinion. I hope to see everyone wearing orange and yelling their guts out for our guys, we are playing a top 5 team. Some fans might say nah i'm not going to go and see that A$$ whooping, but I take the complete opposite approach. They need us there even more for the tougher opponents, Fans and a hostile road environment can make a difference, in not only the other teams play, but the attitudes of the guys on the field. How demoralizing would it be to look up in the stands playing a team like UGA and not see a packed house out there to watch you play your senior season?

Not talking crap to anyone, just hope to see all of us on Volnation that spend countless hours on here talking about the game, actually at the game this Saturday.

Oregonvol needs to get some of that good Pac nw weed and chill the hell out.
I. Have. Never read or heard so much repetitive whining, except for last year and the year prior.
Hit it and pass it to the other jackwagons that don't understand a freshman qb has to not only know his position, but where the ol, wrs and rbs are going to be as well. As you pass it again, breathe and think upon these subjects.

What good is negativity? I just hope people will keep it on the boards and not "boo" in the stands Saturday.

Oregonvol, I have to give you credit. You are, to quote Butch, a "model of consistency." To clarify the concept of support, however, please allow me to utilize an exercise in comparison/contrast:

Oregonvol's modus operandi: "deconstruct, deconstruct, deconstruct . . ."

Support: "Antithesis of oregonvol's modus operandi."

The team needs fan support most during the down years.

Being a fan when we are winning is easy.

Fans need to stay tough during the bad times when the truly team needs the emotional lift.

I agree that one day, eventually, sometime in the future, we will likely beat a team we have lost to previously. Just going to be a while.

I support the Vols in every way imaginable. I do realize that it is hard to be a sunshine pumper 24/7 through these dark years. I just hope we see some light at the end of the tunnel soon. I am about to run out of sunshine.
