Soon if not already happening. The Dems aren't dumb. They knew this would be struck down and provide them with great campaign meat heading into 2024.
It's a rallying point for sure. They're going to use it as their banner to point out to what is, sadly, a population of lazy do-nothings and entitled pricks that "republicans hate you and want you to fail". Most center and right people just want people to take responsibility. That is a "hateful" policy these days, I guess.

This. And before anyone accuses me of any leanings... This bill was stupid. Student loan debt already has enough features to assist borrowers on making the payments. Deferment, forbearance, payments based upon ability to pay etc.

plus the changes to the repayment schedule are ridiculously generous.

This should have been a slam dunk 9-0 decision. It's sad that the 3 liberal justices voted this way. Every legal scholar that commented after this was proposed by Biden said that it was not legal. It's not even really about student debt. It's about whether the President has the power to forgive any debt. The Constitution is clear on this and Congress has the power of the purse as it's always stated.

I do support letting the Universities forgive the debt. If the Universities take loaned money from students and then those students are not educated enough to get jobs that afford them to repay the debt then is that education really worth it? Has that University fulfilled it's job of educating the student? Maybe some of these Universities with huge endowments can use that pool of money to pay back student debt if they so choose?

It is quite scary when considering the power those 3 dunces hold.
