I would rather take a lead pipe to the skull than watch Survivor.

If by "take a lead pipe to the skull" you mean "consecutively watch entire episodes of ET, Dancing With the Stars, and The Bachelor". . . .well, then I'm with you.

I quit Survivor after the 3rd season. We used to actually bet on winners, like $20/pop, each person got one contestant, and if you got kicked off the first week, you got your money back. It made it a lot more exciting. I was pissed because I got the Air Force stud one year and they voted him off out of intimidation. Whatever happenned to Boston Rob and Amber?

They were on The Amazing Race a coule of seasons ago and came in second. It was very close and most of the teams were against them from the beginning due to the Survivor fame. They had a televised wedding special on NBC not long after that. I'm sure you could Google their names and find out current info.

Rob got on my last nerve, and you can bet your sweet behind that if Amber hadn't won he never would have asked her to marry him, maybe some boot knockin, but no marriage.

I thought it was okay. The exile island thing adds a little wrinkle. I thought the older ladies probably screwed up by voting off the lumberjack woman. They will probably all be eliminated in short course.

Got to watch last night. IMO Bruce will find the secret immunity idol. Sorry the Tennessee lady got voted off so early but she did not appear to be a serious contender to win the whole thing anyway. Misty(sp?), who got voted off seemed like a snake. probably a good thing they got rid of her.

I'm with you, it's just the same thing over and over again and people keep watching. Let's see who can survive on top of Mt. Everest without any supplies, I'd watch that in heartbeat.

i read somewhere that they thought about doin it someplace cold but they just couldnt do it. they thought it would be to dangerous which is kind of stupid since the show is called survivor

If you do it somewhere cold you loose the chicks in homemade bikins, which would certainly decrease viewership on some level. IMO cold is the toughest climate. You can live in the heat if you cover your skin and have plenty of water but living in a frozen tundra requires such highly specialized skills that you would be really limited in possible contestants unless you just wanted to send people out to die.

A few years ago a saw a movie called 'Series 7: The Contenders'. I noticed that it has been on some of the Showtime or Stars expanded viewing channels on my digital cable. It also might be available through Netflix. Anyway, in the movie they randomly pick six people's names in a geographical area (like a town or county). They go to these people, tell them that they have been picked for the show, and give them a pistol. The contestants get 24 hours to buy more weapons, make their house into a bunker, or whatever. Then they hunt each other down. Last person alive wins for that week. The people have no choice whether to participate or not, if they want to ignore it or abstain then inevitably some other contestant will show up and off them. As completely disturbing as this sounds I think we are almost at a point in our degenerate culture that people would watch a show like that it if it was aired.

Anyone else been following the show? It's about the only series I actually make a point of watching each week. At this point I am pulling for Terry but he is definitely in a tough spot. With the hidden immunity idol he has one free pass. I am really interested to see what happens this week. IMO Bruce was probably going to be voted off even if he had not gotten sick. The others seemed to be worried about Bruce possibly allying with Terry at some point, although I'm not sure that would've happened. Basically, all Bruce's departure did was save Terry from possibly having to use the idol last week.

So now they are down to six. Even if Terry looses the challenge he has the idol so he is defintiely not going home this week. With Bruce gone the remaining five Casaya will have to realign themselves. As I see it Cirie and Aras are the most sly of those five. The two of them seem to have Danielle and Shane each believeing that they will be in the final three. Also, Cirie still seems to be playing the all-female final three angle with Danielle and Courtney. If Aras does not win immunity he should go. Cirie will not vote agaisnt him, but Terry defintiely will. What the other three will do is anyone's guess. If Aras does win immunity it's going to be a free for all. Aras and Cirie will probably try and get Shane and Danielle to gang up on Courtney. Of course, if Shane has a freak out at the wrong time it could be his head on the block.

it all comes down to which of the casaya tribe is smart enough to realize "hey, if he has that Idol, one of us has to go. who will that be, and who gets to decide it?" if they ALL vote for Terry, that means that whoever terry votes for goes. that's a LOT of power to put in his hands. so somebody's gotta figure out who should go when terry doesn't.

I just want Shane and Danielle OUT of the game so I can get some rest from those Gawad-awaful Boaston accents.

my final 2? Terry and Cirie. with a 4-3 vote for Terry.

IMO if Cirie gets to the final she has a really good chance to win. Remember she was almost the second person voted off when the older women dropped two in a row. The merger saved her and she has definitely been flying under the radar ever since. The one thing that will do her in is if Aras gets voted out. I think Danielle and Courtney would vote against Aras and we know Terry already has.

Adios Courtney. Kind of saw that coming although I thought Danielle might go with Courtney and Terry. I'm not sure if Terry Has to play to idol next week or if he can hold onto it another week, assuming he wins the immunity challenge. Either way Terry is not out next week. It will be really interesting to see what happens with Danielle and Shane.

Could be a good ep. tonight. I'm looking for fireworks as the remaining four Casaya members have to turn on themselves. I think if I was in Terry's shoes I'd just pull out my hidden immunity idol and dangle it under thier noses just to infuriate them. I think Danielle is probably next to go since she has the potential to beat Aras in a physical immunity challenge.
