To those who have watch Swamp Kings on Netflix. Could coaches today get away with the things Meyer did back then? Seems like it would be deemed abuse. I was also surprised that Tebow even went there seeing the culture, language, used by the coaches, etc.

Probably not. The “matt drills” were basically real-life fist fights/wrestling matches. That would be considered brutality and/or hazing nowadays.

Regarding Tebow, I can only imagine what he saw/heard with that group. But through it all, he never changed who he was, while also understanding others were just raised differently.

Agree it’s a good series. Found Urban very open and humble about his time there. Good to hear his side of the story on not kicking Brandon James off the team since it backfired badly before. Not that it’s right or wrong but at least it was thought out far beyond the success of the team. I imagine Tebow reserved his full thoughts about the debauchery the others participated in.

Absolutely. Couldn't stand Tebow when he was a Gator because he kicked our butts repeatedly, but, I can't deny the fact that he's an excellent human.
