He shouldn't get flamed. He's right. Our tackling needs a great deal of work. Our angles are bad, and we are arm tackling way too often. Putting a good hit on someone is more the exception than the rule. Florida's tackling was much better and their speed to the ball was ridiculous. It really shows you how slow we are.

what??? what game did you watch? we hit them and stopped them with very little yac. that was what most impressed me today., our defense stopping forward progress. the problem was angles and pursuit, not tackling.

I thought tackling was for the most part better than it has been. There were some containment issues that resulted from trying to arm tackle though. I think it mostly comes down to the angles being bad due to speed.

Your both right it sux but it is getting better. We should just take a mulligan for OR because of their speed. FL, especially the QB juked us a few too many times and there were very bad angles taken a few plays in the first half...But much better than last year.

But I saw one of our DBs actually take a half step backward to purposely avoid contact with a Gator ball carrier. He shrank away as the ball carrier turned the corner towards his direction and then dived in the direction of the ball carrier's footprints in the grass once he knew he safely missed him. It was comical, if not pathetic. Do you understand me? He made an effort to avoid making the tackle.

Brother Butch, please recruit us some football players that aren't afraid of tackle football.

When you have little team speed (particularly at wideout), practicing tackling angles is difficult.

speed....speed....speed. Others have it and we don't. When you have slow trying to tackle fast in the open field, missed tackles and bad angles are going to happen. Our tackling will get better when our speed improves.

I remember when our Defense not only tackled, the EFFIN' HIT! Just a shell....come back Chief .
