Taggart out at FSU

I agree...… That guy has done a great job at Wake Forest.... Wake is a prestigious academic institute that because of strict academic regulations and being in the middle of fertile recruiting grounds never hardly gets the 4-5 star athletes.
I could see Baylor hiring Mark Stoops if FSU were to hire Matt Rhule.

So someone currently unemployed?

No clue, but you know they’ve been putting out feelers. They must have gotten some major interest in order to get the big shots to put their money in. I can’t see it being Franklin; he would string them along too long.

This will cause other schools (Ark) to also fire now. Someone needs to revive the Coaching Carousel thread because it’s starting.

Gotta think FSU’s coach comes from that pool. FSU’s donor base doesn’t have as much money as other blue bloods; and the facilities are god awful. I don’t see Stoops, Meyer, or Franklin taking that job.

He's not been good, but I do feel like this is a bad move on FSU's part. Jimbo did not leave the program in great shape. Taggart inherited a similar situation on O-line as Pruitt did here. Probably should've given Taggart at least 1-2 more seasons to turn things around.

That said, huge mistake on Taggart's part to take the FSU job in hindsight. Taggart would probably be considered one of the hottest coaches out there if he simply stayed at Oregon.
Why? His record was 47-50 as a head coach when FSU hired him. Only twice did he win as many as 8 games in a season. He had one 10 win season, and one 8 win season out of 8 seasons.
