If I’m an FSU fan, I’m not too optimistic. They’ve hired Glenn Sugiyama of DHR to head up their search. Same firm has produced the following hires:
Utah State (re-hiring former head coach Gary Andersen), Arizona’s search (Kevin Sumlin) and Oregon State’s search (which resulted in hiring Jonathan Smith) recently (among others). He also oversaw the search which placed Charlie Weis at Kansas.

Two thoughts....

1. FSU hasn't learned very much from us that "sources" do not mean much. Reporters down there are going "all in" with their sources saying its Bob Stoops. Could be amateur hour in Tallahassee.

2. If they really have landed Bob Stoops - - then they did this thing the way it now has to be done. Have the new coach lined up before you make the move. I am looking at you John Currie.

Is it wrong that if Bob Stoops goes to FSU I’m going to be pissed? Almost take it personally? Don’t get me wrong, I’m liking where we are headed as a program, but if FSU can go and raise $20 million and then hire Bob Stoops in the next week it makes wonder what the hell we are doing in KTown? I understand that there are a ton of factors that come in to play, but it just blows my mind it could be that simple for the Noles and we have continually got in our own way for over a decade now.

My thoughts exactly. Now in all fairness, I am sure Curry thought he had everything squared away. He had Mullen until FL job came open. So then he just went to his fallback...Schiano. His mistake was picking Schiano as his fall back. Should've had a beyter candidate. Heck if Curry's initial fallback had been Doeren, Satterfield, or Sumlin, Volnation would have accepted it, and one of those guys would have been the HC now.

It's cute how some folks think FSU's search is approaching Tennessee levels of stupid.

Wake me up when:
- FSU extends an offer to a coach on nobody's list
- #FSUTwitter goes berzerk and the offer is pulled
- Their AD goes on a multi-day wild goose chase trying to hire every coach on the planet
- Their AD is pulled back to Tallahassee and fired, still without hiring a coach
- Bobby Bowden is immediately installed as the new AD
- Bowden completes the search by finding an "Eh, it coulda been a lot worse" candidate
- The internal emails/texts from the search are released revealing, among other things, that Clemson had sent FSU an unsolicited ranking of their "top coaches" (with Dabo at #1), Odell Haggins had sent the AD all caps texts indicating interest in the job and they bragged to prospective candidates about FSU's ability to avoid detection by flight tracking sites

It's all about the administrations commitment to winning, FSU is committed to winning ours hasn't been.
