They could have just rented a house in alabama until both kids got out of school. Would make a lot more sense than moving away from all of your family and friends for just a few years of college.

With such a high profile family, they'd be idiots to get involved in their finances/jobs.

You can hide a few bags of cash here and there, but Reggie Bush showed you can't hide houses, jobs etc these days. There too much information out there

You realize its possible to move from one location to another, then potentially move back to the original location.

If Tua's parents owned a home in Hawaii, they could rent out that home and more than cover whatever the rent/mortgage is in Alabama.

Don't forget Tua's younger brother will be in Tuscaloosa for at least three years after Tua leaves.

Plus, Tuscaloosa is a lot like Hawaii anyway, according to Tua.
