It's been a while since I have been in charge of setting up television for a tailgate. We are planning to use a phone with unlimited data and stream Directv. What is the easiest way to connect the iPhone to a television? Lightning to HDMI adapter, or casting somehow?
Find somebody with an AppleTV and screen mirror the stream. It's been a while since I have been in charge of setting up television for a tailgate. I’d use your phone as a WiFi hotspot and use a roku, chromecast, Apple TV, Xbox, Fire, etc.
If you need to stream directly to the phone then, as others mentioned, Apple TV screen mirroring from iPhone or the hdmi adapter, assuming those still exist
I grabbed an antenna and am going to pick up a lightning -> HDMI adapter in the a.m. I wonder if Target or somewhere has a non-apple brand version for less than $60...
Since I already steam using a fire stick anyway, its definitely the way I'd go for a tailgate setup.$60 is nuts but given you are in a time crunch you might be screwed. You can get an Amazon fire stick for much cheaper. Check your Craigslist and see if anyone is selling a roku or fire or something you can stream to.
Cool thanks.Since I already steam using a fire stick anyway, its definitely the way I'd go for a tailgate setup.
In fact, @kiddiedoc you don't even need to subscribe to a skinny bundle. If you'll just go buy one at Best Buy, you can put it in a TV and it'll have the ESPN app. Then download CBS All Access where they'll stream the 330 game for free and you're set. Just use your iPhone hot spot as the network.
