And another one of hat's vague threads pops up.

I take it she runs the SUNY system. What's the deal?

Oh. And yeah, I've got a friend close to graduating SUNY Albany -- she says it's kinda gone to crap.

Didn't he get fired on the heels of a DUI charge?

No, he got fired for not "fitting into her vision". She was looking for any reason to get rid of him. The bigger problem would have been low graduation rates.

The low of the low is how she fired him. She gave him something like a 24 hour ultimatum to resign or be reassigned to a desk job (i.e. he would be removed as coach). There were a whole lot of sore feelings all around, but she always came off as a major bichon.

Huggs' graduation rates were better than Wisconsin-Milwaukee's, where Zimpher was the president before she showed up at UC. Wonder who her last coach there was?

Is it normal for someone in that line of work to have been at 3 different institutions in 6 or so years?

If all they are good at is convincing people to make the epic mistake of hiring them, yes.

True, but as I remember it: part of her public relations' "reasoning" was that she wanted a greater focus put on academics (or something along those lines) and that Huggins refused to subscribe to buy in to her push for "academic excellence". In the end is was all BS, I guess Huggs wouldn't kiss her rear end and she didn't like that.
Regardless, I have rather enjoyed watching Cincy's inability to make the NCAA tourney since the firing.
